Thanks for fixing the disambiguation link on pages like this! I tried to figure this out, but couldn't figure out how to use the template properly. Natg 19 (talk) 18:20, 14 November 2023 (UTC)

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:30, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

  • Following a motion, the Extended Confirmed Restriction has been amended, removing the allowance for non-extended-confirmed editors to post constructive comments on the "Talk:" namespace. Now, non-extended-confirmed editors may use the "Talk:" namespace solely to make edit requests related to articles within the topic area, provided that their actions are not disruptive.
  • The Arbitration Committee has announced a call for Checkusers and Oversighters, stating that it will currently be accepting applications for CheckUser and/or Oversight permissions at any point in the year.
  • Eligible users are invited to vote on candidates for the Arbitration Committee until 23:59 December 11, 2023 (UTC). Candidate statements can be seen here.

template:disambiguation

Hi R'n'B. Can you undo this diff? It's causing disambiguation pages to appear uncategorized because Category:All disambiguation pages is a hidden category whereas Category:Disambiguation pages is not. Since the change is affecting literally hundreds of thousands of pages, it would probably be wise to start some kind of formal discussion on the role of these two categories before making this modification. Cheers, Pichpich (talk) 20:18, 20 January 2024 (UTC)

  • All right. But I'll note that there are >100,000 disambiguation pages that were not in Category:Disambiguation pages even before this edit, because they use some other template other than {{Disambiguation}}. I don't think the category is useful as it is, but I don't want to proceed willy-nilly if it's potentially controversial. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 20:42, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
Thanks. I don't claim to understand why we need a hidden Category:All disambiguation pages but I'm sure someone does. :-) Pichpich (talk) 00:16, 21 January 2024 (UTC)

Removal of 2006 Canadian World Junior Team page

Hey there, I was wondering why you removed the 2006 Canadian World Junior Team page. I was planning on re-creating the page, but if there is more reasoning to why it's deleted, please let me know. Thanks! OnlyNano 17:10, 1 February 2024 (UTC)

I deleted it because it was a redirect to a non-existent page, 2006 Canadian World Junior Hockey Team (which another editor had previously deleted). I have no objection to it being recreated if the new article meets Wikipedia standards. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 17:24, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
Ah, thank you for the clarification. OnlyNano 17:31, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
