RE: BPD edits:

Huge objection. ICD-9 criteria and DSM-IV-TR are not equivalent. They should not be presented as such. It confuses the diagnostic paradigm with the descriptive...apples and oranges. In addition, "nonBPD" is a reactive character style, not a personality disorder. Merging the nonBPD article with the BPD article would be like merging an article on co-dependence with one on alcoholism. Related, but not integrated in a scientificially meaningful manner. 記事作成の依頼 Kiji Sakusei no Irai

[edit]

--Hatto 03:02, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The... vote

[edit]

Hei David, would you mind taking a look at the vote for the way we represent articles about consoles and handheld systems? Thank you. Havok (T/C/c) 23:04, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Liancourt Rocks edit

[edit]

Someone reverted your NPOV edit on the opening of the Liancourt Rocks/Dokdo/Takeshima page. I didn't revert it back since I thought you might like to be the one to provide the rationale, or perhaps you will accept his reasoning. Personally, I think it's a good attempt regardless of where the article winds up. LactoseTIT 01:58, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, my mistake! I have hope that it turns out for the best in the end myself. It seems a lot of people have their eyes on that page now, perhaps because of the change. LactoseTIT 03:29, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're spot on - I added the edit to the wrong article. I've moved the contents Phonemonkey 11:51, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your comments on Notability and fangames

[edit]

Hi,

I've noticed you commented on several fangames, stating that notability is subjective.

Notability is not subjective on Wikipedia (User:Uncle G/On notability provides a very clear picture of what notability is). The main notability criteria is multiple non-trivial mentions in third-party published works. Notability itself stems from Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and verifiability. Fangames, like other self-published material, will often not meet this type of criteria because they don't have multiple non-trivial mentions in third party published works (self-published works, such as fan webpages and webzines, are often dubious in this regard - see the reliable sources criterion). But the fact is, they often tend to have a fan base that is connected to the web, and so random fans (who are not familiar with policy) will create an article on Wikipedia, believing that they're adding useful information. But unfortunately, because the material is unsourced, it is original research on the part of the fans themselves. Original research is not the point of an Encyclopedia, which is a tertiary source.

I hope this clarifies things. ColourBurst 23:58, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of 263.net

[edit]

A tag has been placed on 263.net requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. SchmuckyTheCat (talk) 04:27, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of 263.net

[edit]

I have nominated 263.net, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/263.net. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Россавиа Диалог 06:11, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimania 2010 could be coming to Stockholm!

[edit]

I'm leaving you a note as you may be interested in this opportunity.

People from all six Nordic Wiki-communities (sv, no, nn, fi, da and is) are coordinating a bid for Wikimania 2010 in Stockholm. I'm sending you a message to let you know that this is occurring, and over the next few months we're looking for community support to make sure this happens! See the bid page on meta and if you like such an idea, please sign the "supporters" list at the bottom. Tack (or takk), and have a wonderful day! Mike H. Fierce! 08:07, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

hi, I saw several revisions mentioned sougou or google pinyin input method but you've removed it. While the descriptions in the previous revisions were pretty lame, both methods are possibly the most popular in the mainland china and may be worth some introduction. I'm trying to gather some information on it. --Winstonlighter (talk) 18:11, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see what you did there... Wouldn't have known what that was referring to, if not for you. :) — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 11:01, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Modern Standard Mandarin. Since you had some involvement with the Modern Standard Mandarin redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so.
