You seem to be caught in an revert war with User:Kurt Leyman over the Battle of Crete article. Please try to discuss the issues on talk. I'm close to protecting the article, and it will certainly be on m:The Wrong Version. --Stephan Schulz (talk) 09:12, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Official History of Australia in the War of 1939–1945

[edit]

You're completely correct. When I created that article I assumed that the series had the same title as that for the WW1 series (which is the 'Official History of Australia in the War of 1914–1918' [1]. I've just moved the article to the correct title. Thanks for picking up on this! --Nick Dowling (talk) 08:00, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I take your point. At the same time, we generally cite the the online versions and it could be deemed that the online versions are a new edition/imprint and may therefore can carry a different title. But I don't have problem with the omission of "Official History" from the references. Cheers, Grant talk. 04:08, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Replied on Hawkeye7 page

[edit]

Appreciate that you not make uninformed comments about other editors without doing them the courtesy of reviewing their actions, none of those links were broken, nor altered in any way by myself other than to conform to Wikipedia guidelines. I've double checked them all before and afterward and suggest you do the same in future. Awotter (talk) 00:24, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have responded to your reply on Hawkeye7's talk page showing four references that you rendered nonsensical (there may be others). If you double-checked these edits without noticing such glaring errors, that does not speak well of your attention to detail. R. A. Hicks (talk) 09:46, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Told you twice and will repeat it. No references were changed, every single one matches the ref and page number of the prior version.Awotter (talk) 03:06, 9 February 2008 (UTC) The page numbers were exactly the same which is what I verified. That there was an error copying the source is why ibid isn't used so editors adding information don't have to hand correct all other sources. Considering exactly 1 source was incorrect I'd just point out agin it wasn't broken and had you taken 10 seconds to look rather that tagging the article and then a talk page you wouldn't have wasted the time of people who were trying to make an article better. I'll be more than happy to just leave it broken the next time.Awotter (talk) 03:25, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Von Blücher Brothers at Crete

[edit]

Hello! I noticed your article on the Von Blücher Brothers at Crete. While a well-known and often cited fact about the Battle of Crete, I am not sure it deserves a separate article of its own. It cannot really be expanded further, and as it stands, it is out of context with the battle where the deaths took place. IMO it would be better if we simply merged it into the existing Battle of Crete article. If you have no objections to this, I shall make the merge within a few days.
