Hi,

Forgive my ignorance; I'm new to the whole process of editing Wikipedia entries.

I had wanted to draw attention to the fact that bariatric surgery is widely misunderstood; that is, the surgeries are generally thought to act primarily through malabsorption and/or restriction, but recent studies indicate that surgery works primarily through altering physiology. Surgery changes hormonal and neuronal signals that occur between the digestive tract and the brain, altering the complex regulatory system that determines how much body fat is stored by the body.

You removed my post because I provided no citation. (I can certainly understand why you removed it!) The reason I didn't provide citation is because I am clueless as to the process for inserting footnotes. It was challenging enough for me just to figure out how to propose an edit in the first place. See my first sentence to you above. :)

Here is a good source of information on this topic: Nature Reviews Gastroenterology and Hepatology 10, 575-584 (October 2013) | doi:10.1038/nrgastro.2013.119 The URL: http://www.nature.com/nrgastro/journal/v10/n10/full/nrgastro.2013.119.html

Here is another one that focuses entirely on vertical sleeve gastrecomy: Nature 509, 183–188 (08 May 2014) doi:10.1038/nature13135 The URL: http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v509/n7499/abs/nature13135.html

How do I go about inserting this information into the Wikipedia page on bariatric surgery?

Sorry again for being such a dunce!

Why did you take out the Japanese characters. They're cool as hell — Preceding unsigned comment added by TwingeGrinch (talkcontribs) 19:26, 30 October 2015 (UTC)

I am Edward Kleinschmidt Mayes and worked on this Wikipedia piece on me and noticed today that you reverted what I had done. I don't know why you did. Please revert your revert. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ekmayes (talkcontribs) 12:50, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

This revision history shows that you were of the opinion that the repeated removal of content from the Memphis Mafia article was unexplained. Perhaps you are interested in helping to solve some content disputes (and edit wars) concerning similar topics from a neutral point of view. See [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]. See also [6]. Thanks. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
