I cleaned up the article, which was obviously written by the person himself, and removed advertising and peacock language. 70.114.211.80 (talk) 17:28, 31 January 2018 (UTC)

ON PC Leadership election

Just to let you know, I didn't add the Christine Elliott Part on the webpage, somebody else did — Preceding unsigned comment added by Derpy Kirby (talkcontribs) 21:49, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

@Derpy Kirby: My mistake, sorry about that! Though what I said about Caroline Mulroney does still apply for the next little while until we get more than sources saying she is "about to" announce her candidacy. RA0808 talkcontribs 21:57, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

Duplication

Template:O-Train lines and stations is redundant to Template:OC Transpo Rapid Transit. Why? Secondarywaltz (talk) 19:54, 6 February 2018 (UTC)

@Secondarywaltz: Because I will be removing O-Train related links and turning Template:OC Transpo Rapid Transit into a Transitway template. RA0808 talkcontribs 19:56, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
So instead of one template you will have two which serve the same purpose as the unified one? The advantage was the ability to navigate to articles which are not in the individual templates. Currently you can jump from O-Train to Transitway line or station but if you remove the unrelated template from articles that will be lost. Secondarywaltz (talk) 20:02, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
@Secondarywaltz: The problem is that the unified template becomes large and overcomplicated, subdividing between Transitway and O-Train services. This way ensures both templates are cleaner and easier for readers to use. The O-Train stations that interchange with the Transitway will have both templates, but stations that are now only served by the O-Train will have the simpler navigation. RA0808 talkcontribs 20:18, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
That's my point. You will not be able to navigate to other OC Transpo articles. It's not a particularyl large navbox and collapses by default. I'll work on a unified demo for you similar to the massive one used in TransLink (British Columbia) so that the unrelated section stays collapsed when you open the other. Secondarywaltz (talk) 20:33, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
Here User:Secondarywaltz/sandbox is a quick example you could use, where you only see what you want to see. I have removed bus routes which compacts the Transitway portion and the coding needs work. Secondarywaltz (talk) 21:16, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
@Secondarywaltz: Hm... looking at your prototype, I can see how that could be a manageable unified template. It definitely seems to be worth some tinkering in that regard. RA0808 talkcontribs 02:07, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
You can edit my sandbox version if you wish. I am mostly retired from Wikipedia and don't currently use it. Secondarywaltz (talk) 13:54, 7 February 2018 (UTC)

SMILE!! 7 Feb 2018

This file is essentially the same as the one discussed at Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2016 January 13#File:Vodafone logo.png and the consensus reached in that discussion was that the use of the primary logo of the parent company in subsidiary or branch company articles did not comply with the WP:NFCCP. While adding a non-free use rationale for the Malta article does meet WP:NFCC#10c, it doesn't really address the concerns raised in the aforementioned FFD discussion per WP:JUSTONE. A consensus may change over time, however, so you might want to discuss this with either Peripitus (the admin who closed the FFD discussion) or Stefan2 (the editor who started the FFD discussion) and explain why/how this file's use in the Malta article satisfies the NFCCP.

I'm also adding a link to Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2016 December 7#File:Vodafone logo.png where the close of the first FFD was reconfirmed. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:19, 7 February 2018 (UTC)

@Marchjuly: Thanks for the heads up, having looked at the discussion I can see that there isn't a reason to go against the FFD consensus for now. RA0808 talkcontribs 22:27, 7 February 2018 (UTC)

Caroline Mulroney photo

Hi, RA0808 talk. I'm very new re: the image protocols. I imagine there might be free use photos available but I guess you are saying that until someone finds and uploads one, this non-free use image is ok..is that what you are saying? It just seems a bit unfair because I was not allowed to use Ford's campaign image. Also her name is misspelled on the image file, is that something I can correct? best wishes, Nocturnalnow (talk) 14:57, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

Responded at your talk page. RA0808 talkcontribs 15:09, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

Ontario Ministry of the Status of Women stub

Like you, I am an academic. Unlike you, I've been into information activism since the early 1990s. Currently other academics and I are working to establish a virtual Feminist Policy Research Network. For tangential reasons I looked carefully at this page and came across your editing and your knowledge of Wikipedia editing. I may have some content to build out this page, but I don't yet have a clear idea of what I can or want to do. I need advice from a practitioner expert.

You can verify my identity by googling Jane Arscott, Athabasca University
If possible I would like to talk to you by phone to introduce myself and share some ideas in the hope that you can guide me to something do-able. Thanks for reading. A page you started (The Great Canadian Baking Show (season 1)) has been reviewed!

Thanks for creating The Great Canadian Baking Show (season 1), RA0808!

Wikipedia editor Semmendinger just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

Very well done, I especially like the charts you've made. Nice job :)

SEMMENDINGER (talk) 15:21, 13 February 2018 (UTC)

@Semmendinger: Thank you for the kind words, but the chart and boxes are from the main The Great Canadian Baking Show when I split the page so I can't take all the credit for them (though I did contribute to them as the show progressed). RA0808 talkcontribs 22:27, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
Haha, fair enough! In any case the page looks great! SEMMENDINGER (talk) 23:05, 13 February 2018 (UTC)

Reverted the Picture

I just wanted to know why my edit in which I added a picture in the Punjabi Kashmiri article is reverted by you? DarSahab (talk) 05:09, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

Remove content from Tundav

I read your recent message about my editing on Tundav page. I'm from this village and the current pictures and some information are not correct in it so, I want to delete it. Jydpp (talk) 19:20, 20 February 2018 (UTC)

@Jydpp: Hi and thanks for your message. Please note that changes to Wikipedia must be backed up by reliable source (WP:RS for more info) and cannot be based on original research (WP:OR; personal experiences for which no reliable published sources exist). Cheers! RA0808 talkcontribs 19:25, 20 February 2018 (UTC)

Jill Soloway Edit

That wasn't me. Any idea how I can find out who has my IP? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:387:A:5:0:0:0:9E (talk) 13:51, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

Since your IP address is registered to AT&T Mobility, it is likely shared by multiple other customers at any given time. If you would like to contribute to Wikipedia without those annoying messages about other people using the same IP please consider signing up for an account. Cheers! First Parliament in European History?

I have a question, UNESCO says that the oldest proof of Parliament is in León, and instead you put sources of doubtful rigor on Nordic parliaments like the first ones. Does not UNESCO have validity? I honestly do not understand, could you explain it to me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.94.210.236 (talk) 18:42, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

You made a WP:BOLD change and were reverted by another editor who disagreed. The reason why I reverted your edit is because, instead of discussing this with User:power~enwiki on their talk page or on the article talk page to achieve consensus, you just immediately reverted their reversion. That is not constructive to the project. I highly recommend you reach out to power~enwiki to discuss your concerns instead of falling down the rabbit hole toward an edit war. RA0808 talkcontribs 18:49, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
You're right, my apologies. I have already tried to talk to him in the discussion box stating that it is more rigorous to take a source from UNESCO than to assume that the Nordic parliaments were the first based on a PDF and a nordica random website.
If you think that I have a minimum of reason, could you comment on it? I will try to talk and kindly discuss with him.
A greeting and forgiveness for editing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.94.210.236 (talk) 18:56, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

Hi! you reverted my removal of a section on Islam. My argument was that in the context I read, this was not talking about "sacred" prostitution and was misplaced in an article that talks coherently about the practice of using prostitution or sex as a religious ritual, not as a social non-sacred practice. Can you discuss that? Thanks! 2001:56A:F109:F800:6442:AC9B:FC19:F9C6 (talk) 20:27, 23 February 2018 (UTC)

Re Tina Turner

You've got the wrong chap. I have never edited anything on Tina Turner... in fact, I had to google her to find out who she is. :-) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.150.138.32 (talk) 14:05, 28 February 2018 (UTC)

You can see that someone who had been assigned your IP address did make an edit to Tina Turner (see the contribution history). Since your IP address is registered to BT, it is shared by multiple other customers at any given time.
