Speedy Deletion

Hi, could you please remove the deletion request from my artist page... I'm still new to Wiki and getting used to how to tag things correctly etc. so I might have made some errors here and there, grateful if you could help fix it rather than delete :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Manlikegopal (talkcontribs) 20:34, 12 September 2021 (UTC)

@Manlikegopal: Hi and thank you for your message. At this stage the version of the article's text is considered copyright infringement because it has not been released under a free license. It's not enough to claim that you are the owner of the website it originated from, the website needs to specifically state that the text is released under a license compatible with Wikipedia. Moving on from there, as it stands now the text of the article is purely promotional and would need to be fundamentally re-written to meet Wikipedia's encyclopedic tone (see WP:TONE). As well, creating an article about yourself on Wikipedia is strongly discouraged as it poses issues of conflicts of interest that can affect Wikipedia's goal of a neutral point of view. Please see WP:AUTOBIO for more information. RA0808 talkcontribs 20:48, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
@RA0808: Well I cannot write on the ABOUT page for my website "this bio is approved for Wikipedia use", so instead I could just remove the sourcing? It is not ideal but if it is the only way to get around it?? Furthermore, many artists initially create their own pages which are then amended by their fans as appropriate. I have not given any promotional views towards new songs, rather I just have spoken about my career so far...discography/releases etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Manlikegopal (talkcontribs) 20:53, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
@Manlikegopal: Removing the sourcing does not change that the wording is copyrighted, the copyrighted text itself will need to be removed from the article. As for the claim that "many artists" create their own Wikipedia articles, I would be interested to see the source on that claim. Once again, I would really recommend reviewing WP:AUTOBIO (and its companion opinion essay "An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing").
