Hi Rachel, thank you for your interest in the permafrost article. I sense that some of its language wasn't clear to you and you attempted to improve it. I took that as a cue to determine whether there was a still better way to state what was written. I hope that you understand that this is to be expected in Wikipedia and don't take offense.
