I removed the reference to the galleries from the lead again. There is already a discussion started on the talk page about whether this information should be in the lead. Please participate in the discussion so that we can reach a consensus. Meters (talk) 19:43, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

LDear Meters, I am not a frequent editor on Wikipedia, so I don't quite know how these talk pages work. The reference to Dana Schutz's current gallery representation in the lead is purely information, not promotional. It is useful having it in the lead because many institutions like museums or universities draw information for bios or introductions from this page. Gallery representation is basic information for artists. It is also useful to mention the galleries at the beginning because they are a good source for images of artwork that cannot be posted on wikipedia due to copyright issues. Here are a few artists' wikipedia pages that list gallery representation in the lead: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mamma_Andersson https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neo_Rauch https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_Johnson_(artist) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Winters https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K8_Hardy ttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghada_Amer ttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcel_Dzama Radiatorlady (talk) 21:02, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No need to put this here and on the article's talk page. Meters (talk) 23:15, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
