Jaenisch

[edit]

I see that de:Carl Ferdinand Jaenisch has Ferdinand, but rightly or wrongly all English language sources I've seen use Friedrich. Since this is the English language Wikipedia, we generally follow English language sources, if they are reliable. If good sources could be found, Jaenisch's name might be changed here. I do not intend to discuss what are good and reliable sources. If we have a look at the source metioned in de:Carl Ferdinand Jaenisch, then we can learn that all these English sources are wrong. Obviously, it is an illogical strategy to follow English sources far away from the location where Jaenisch lived. In the artcle The Russian chess school the hisorian A. Kentler describes how he found out the correct name of Jaenisch.--r s c (talk) 16:02, 27 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
