Rainhut[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Rainhut, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Rainhut. brewcrewer (yada, yada) 06:58, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles, as you did to Rainhut. Book notability[edit]

Hi RainhutFan,

In regards to the AfD of Rainhut, I suggest you take a look at Wikipedia:Notability_(books) to see if the book meets any one of the five criteria for inclusion there. If it does, then great, just add some secondary sources to the article and the article will more than likely be kept. If not, I'm afraid that the book almost certainly does not meet Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion.

As far as the actual quality of the article goes, notability aside, it's pretty good for someone who's new at the whole thing! You may want to consider adding an Infobox template to the article, as seen in articles like Dune (novel).

Also, as an aside, you should sign comments on talk pages by adding four tildes (~~~~), this makes it easy to follow who is saying what in a longer discussion. Lankiveil (talk) 09:23, 1 January 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia! I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, Rainhut. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. Thank you. Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Rainhut. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Alexfusco5 20:17, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Rainhut, you will be blocked from editing. Giles Bennett (Talk, Contribs) 21:34, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is not for the author of a book to determine whether an article on Wikipedia about that book is to be deleted - that would not constitute consensus. Please refrain from amending the article in that fashion - doing so constitutes vandalism, for which you have been repeatedly warned. Continued vandalism may result in a block.
