Doctors[edit]

Hey – after seeing your edits on Al Haskey, I just wanted to say thank you for contributing so much to the article! If you have any extra time afterwards, I really need help with other Doctors character articles on the Doctors category, as a lot of them are tagged with improvement templates. I plan on working on them over the next few weeks, but having your contributions would be a huge help – no pressure though! – DarkGlow (talk) 00:22, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

That is okay, I thought it was worth improving the article. I will take a look through those. I can work on some over the coming weeks.Rain the 1 09:27, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, the article for Sid Vere has been proposed for deletion, I was wondering if you'd be able to help out with additions on the page? Also pinging @JuneGloom07 and Soaper1234:DarkGlow (talk) 16:23, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for correcting the mistake that I made when I edited the Bethany Platt Wikipedia page on 24 January 2020. My apologies, it wasn't my intention to be disruptive.

Lee Maloney[edit]

Hi, noticed you expanded Matt's development but I was wondering if you had anything for Lee (a pretty short term character but was around long enough to be considered a regular) in her own right as character? Information on Maree Ackehurts is pretty scant as she's pretty much invisible these days. Conquistador2k6 10 March 2020 21:03 (UTC)

@Conquistador2k6: Hey and sorry for the really late reply, the information for Lee is the same that I have added for Matt's article. So there is something for a list entry, have you worked on the relevant list?Rain the 1 12:14, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Worked on it? I have that page in a Userspace: User:Conquistador2k6/List of Neighbours characters (1989). You're welcome to have a bash. If I can get some stuff for Bob Landers (he had a pretty major arc 1991-92, Prison escape and Todd harbouring him, holding Phoebe, Pam and Dorothy hostage and shooting Brad), that'd be good. Also, pipe dream at this point, but I'd be looking to get Mary Crombie out of others. Conquistador2k6 22 March 2020 13:00 (UTC)

I had not realised you were working on the list. I just added similar to the information I added to Matt's article. I looked and I used everything already.Rain the 1 13:21, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Conquistador2k6: I have an article about the hostage situation/shooting, but the magazine is currently at the bottom of a box, behind another box. I'll try to dig it out when I get a moment. - JuneGloom07 Talk 16:06, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Awesome, thanks. No pressure, You can add that, too when you find it. You've got a fair bit on your plate from what I've seen. Conquistador2k6 22 March 2020 18:08 (UTC)

IMO, 60% of it seems fine (Characterisation, Relationships in particular and Departure) but feel free to revert until you've got everything you need. 14:31 28 March 2020 (UTC) Conquistador2k6

BLP discretionary sanctions alert[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Thanks for your kind words, but more than that thank you for calmly reflecting, working out how you might have approached the situation differently, and then putting your realizations in words for all to see. Aussie Soaps 1992-93[edit]

Hey, I noticed you've put a rocket up a couple articles from that time period (UK pace anyway) and wonder if you had anything in your little bag of tricks for the following

  • Kelly Chan from the unifinished 1992 Home and Away characters list
  • All the Meg stuff, she packed a fair bit into the short time she was in the show
  • Cameron Hudson, The last member of the Willises I'm hoping to get their own article or at least off impending my Neighbours 1992 characters listicle
  • Jill Weir

Conquistador2k6 10 January 2021 01:56 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) I think I already mentioned that I'm working on a Cameron article, and it shouldn't be too long before it's ready to be moved to the mainspace. I don't know how much more info there is for Kelly since the first lot I added to her section. It was only a short guest stint after all. I've definitely seen some Jill info, so if Rain doesn't have much, I can take a look. - JuneGloom07 Talk 18:43, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

OK. That would be great. It's just I've been stalling for months on a couple of my projects and the last few months, I've been mainly patching up missing citations on Corrie and Enders actor/character articles. For Neighbours: 1989 only really needs Bob Landers fleshing out, 2nd half of stint mainly. 1992, The Blurb for Cameron and getting Jill out of others. 1995 my main concerns are getting Adrian, Melissa and Andrew out of others. 1989 and 1992 are of a higher priority, to me however. If you can spare the time, I will be grateful.

Conquistador2k6 11 January 2021 21:26 (UTC)

@Conquistador2k6:@JuneGloom07:I definitely think we can help. JG you will probably be able to help more with Jill Weir as you covered Doug's affair quite well. The July 1993 issue of TVTimes has information on Bob Landers too? Then I could add any extra info. C2k I do not recall anything else for Kelly aside from the bonus Inside Soap article. I never know what to do with Meg but I know I have the information. I will start a sandbox and begin bringing the information together. If the end result is lacking then we can put the info in the list. There could also be more information to bring characters trapped in the "others" sections from the lists you work. I will get looking in little my bag of tricks. lolRain the 1 08:24, 15 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ian Beale[edit]

The official EastEnders website has removed Ian Beale. They have no history of removing characters who are on breaks, temporary or otherwise. British Soap Awards nominees[edit]

Hello Rain, hope you're well – I was wondering if you had any sources offline (or online but I've scoured the web and can't find anything) that cover the nominations for the British Soap Awards for 2000–2003? I'm looking to add them to the main article and potentially expand articles on individual awards (eg villain of the year, potentially dramatic performances, partnerships and comedy) but am just coming to a loss with finding the other noms. – DarkGlow • 23:07, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the late reply. I originally read this incorrectly and thought you wanted the Inside Soap Awards. I am not sure if I can find the British Soap Awards for you using old magazines, they seemed to just cover winners. I will look through other magazines. I can use the British News Paper Archive to piece together some of the nominations. This source [2] states that at the BSA 2003, Shane Ritchie was nominated for "Sexiest Male", "Best Comedy Moment" and "Best Newcomer". Jessie Wallace and Kacey Ainsworth were nominated for "Best Actress", which it confirms Ainsworth won. Dean Sullivan won his award. Brian Capron won "Villain of the Year", "Best Exit", "Best Storyline", "Best Actor".Rain the 1 22:52, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Uploading images[edit]

Hello, raintheone. I hope you are doing well. I am aware that you are quite experienced with uploading images for Wikipedia articles and I was wondering and hoping that you would be willing to upload one for me for an article. Thank you. - Therealscorp1an (talk) 23:36, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I have been busy and only just noticed this. It is fairly easy to upload images. On the right hand menu select "Upload file" or go here - it is easy from there and even easier when you click on "Old Guided Form" and select the relevant category.Rain the 1 19:20, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Assistance please[edit]

I want to add this link [3] to the soap opera villains list as Creasey calls Mick an “inept villain” but I am unable to, would you be able to help? Just letting you know I’ve also asked JuneGloom for help also. --82.132.247.110 (talk) 09:48, 20 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Where the Heart Is[edit]

Deleting information and then starting a discussion seems like the wrong way round to me. If you're willing to leave some unsourced information because, as you put it, it would cause issues, then why not leave all of it? I notice there's another comment on here from someone who found the information useful and was wondering why you deleted it. I'll discuss this further under the discussion you mentioned. Images[edit]

Hello, Raintheone, I hope you are doing well. I was wondering if you would please be able to find an image for Harlow Robinson? I would do it myself (and sorry if this request seems rude or lazy), but I still have not really wrapped my head around the whole images system! I am trying to learn, but have not quite gotten there yet. I hope you are having a good day. - Therealscorp1an (talk) 08:35, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Not rude or lazy, most editors seem to ask me so.. Basic low-res screenshots taken from episodes are less likely to be deleted. So in line with the rest of Neighbours articles, I have opted for that. I see you worked on the article offline? I have started creating an article for Nicolette offline too.Rain the 1 19:50, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I mainly just used User:Therealscorp1an/Harlow and worked on the article over the course of a few days. I think an article for Nicolette would be good, since there are an array a lot of things to talk about, especially the baby storyline (if you need sources for that, there may be some in the Robinson family#2020s section). Anyways, thank you very much for uploading the image for me. - Therealscorp1an (talk) 21:16, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again. I was wondering if you have a picture of Levi Canning and Wendy Rodwell? - Therealscorp1an (talk) 05:32, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Therealscorp1an: - I added the picture of Levi to his infobox. As for Wendy - Is it a good idea to create an article about her? She is quite popular and Leask definitely helped elevate Wendy's popularity with fan interaction on Twitter. Had the show continued it would be a different story no doubt.Rain the 1 21:34, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Personally, I think an article for her is good, although there may not be enough storylines and 'behind-the-scenes' information, if you know what I mean. I was thinking for the meantime we could just add a photo of the character to her infobox on the 2021 article and in the future (or now if you want!) we could work on an article for her. I have actually been working on improving my skills when it comes to uploading files, such as for this article, but it's definitely been a bit difficult! - Therealscorp1an (talk) 21:44, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
We cannot add non-free images to lists as it is an easy fail of the guidelines. Adding non-free images to lists of characters is frowned upon and an easy target for deletion since the article is about a collective of characters and does not illustrate the entire subjects. The image you have uploaded to the article you created about the Cathedral of Saints Constantine and Helene will unfortunately be deleted. It is already tagged for deletion. As this church can easily be photographed in real life, a non-free image is not suitable. You should photograph it yourself and upload it.Rain the 1 22:02, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thought so, got it. Also, I did not know about that when adding images to the list of character articles. Thank you for clarifying. In that case, I think an article would be suitable for Wendy. I am working on a few projects at the moment, but maybe in the near future it can be worked on. If we were to write an article for her, what do you think the major subheadings in the development section should be? Anyways, thank you so much for all your help. - Therealscorp1an (talk) 22:13, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I do not think there would be any subheadings since she has had no big stories. Creating an article for Wendy will only create problems for the wider Neighbours project.Rain the 1 21:05, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know, I may write a draft up and see how much information I can get. - Therealscorp1an (talk) 00:31, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ratings[edit]

I have been asking a few other editors this too; do you know of any ways to access past television ratings (specifically 2015 ratings) for Australia and even the UK? - Therealscorp1an (talk) 09:02, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Editors get UK ratings from BARB. Digital Spy and others used to do daily ratings updates but those are long gone.Rain the 1 16:54, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thank you so much. I am specifically trying to find March 2015 ratings for Neighbours, do you know where I may find them within BARB? - Therealscorp1an (talk) 20:25, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It seems we are too late. The general public appear to only be able to search back five years in BARB. I am not sure other than the off chance the media reported on the ratings? Did you notice that someone used a curation tool on the Wendy article. I guessed this could happen. :(Rain the 1 18:12, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Dammit, I guess I am going to have limited ratings information then. Also, yes, I did see the notability tag on Wendy. I don't know what to think about it because the information is definately there, it's much more developed than other articles too, so I don't know. Thanks for the help, though. Now to try and access old TV Week magazine pieces... - Therealscorp1an (talk) 21:08, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Therealscorp1an:They are probably incomplete articles that can be expanded or from a time we cannot easily access information from. Perhaps you could consider making the information more concise and adding Wendy to the list? Something to think about? In more positive news, I solved it, take a look at this:

Image[edit]

Hey, @Raintheone, how are you? I hope you had a good Christmas and New Year's. Nice work on the Nicolette Stone article! I was wondering if this would be possible to upload as an image file: I have been working away at the Death and funeral of Constantine II of Greece article and I am hoping to spruce it up by adding some images to it and I stumbled upon an Instagram account that posted a photo of many European monarchs seated together at the funeral. This account is not the owner of this photo, though, and I was wondering if it is possible for one to upload this photo to the Wikimedia Commons for use? Thanks. - Therealscorp1an (talk) 09:50, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Therealscorp1an Hey. You can only upload a photograph if you took the photograph and want to upload it. Or if not, the original owner gives permission to release it under the correct licence so it can be added to commons. Rain the 1 10:08, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And how would you be able to gain permission (and even prove it)? - Therealscorp1an (talk) 10:11, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Therealscorp1an if the owner had a Flickr account they can change the license and you can use a tool to upload it. Or you can ask them to release it to commons via a ticket request VRT/OTRS team can review. Search Commons:Volunteer Response Team on Wikimedia Commons to learn more. We used to explain, ask and beg people on Flickr and did gain numerous cast photos for soaps as it was easier. Rain the 1 10:30, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thank you so much for your help. I might try contacting a few people who have helped me work on the article to see if they have any images. - Therealscorp1an (talk) 10:33, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Raintheone. After countless discussions, it seems I have been led back to you. You stated before that "We used to explain, ask and beg people on Flickr and did gain numerous cast photos for soaps", so I am presuming that you have a Flickr account? If this is the case, I was wondering if you would able to do quite a large favour for me. I have found Flickr images of what I have been looking for, but they are all licensed under "All rights reserved". Would you please be able to try and ask the owner to downgrade the rights of the images (if he says no to all of them, then specifically just at least this one or this one, despite how great the material like this and this is)? I wouldn't be able to express my gratitude if you did. Thank you in advance. - Therealscorp1an (talk) 23:07, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Therealscorp1an I haven't used Flickr for years and couldn't recover my account last time I tried a few years back. So won't be able to help with that. Sorry. Rain the 1 23:41, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, alright then. Do you know anyone who might be able to? - Therealscorp1an (talk) 23:43, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, so I guess that's a no then. Alright. - Therealscorp1an (talk) 22:10, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe you could try and learn? Those are from a journalist and freelance photographer who is probably looking to get paid for his work. Though sometimes people help out and donate. We once contacted an Australian photographer and she gave hundreds of free photos of famous people she had encountered from press events. If you don't ask, you don't get!Rain the 1 22:23, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just not too sure about creating a Flickr account and getting involved in something I'd probably use once. Also, it's my first time and I think if I stuff this up, there's really no other chance to get images for the article! Not only that, but it seems I'd have to use my real life details to sign up, if that's right? - Therealscorp1an (talk) 22:29, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Soaps improvement drive[edit]

Hello, I pinged you on the WP:SOAPS talk page about this so sorry to double on the message but I want to get as many on-board for this as it's ambitious, even for me. Due to the recent surge in scrutiny on soap articles, we all need to come together and improve soap articles, so I've created an improvement drive with dates and articles for the soap WikiProject to focus on improving articles each week. Right now, it's focused on Hollyoaks, but the plan is to keep it going until we get to each soap. I did not include a section to sign up as I didn't want editors to feel that they are signing their life away and are expected to edit the articles mercilessly. I hope for some level of dedication but it's not a drive with huge pressure. Are you interested in joining in? – Meena • 11:42, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Revert of revert[edit]

Hello. As you know I did a partial revert of your own revert. Here is my rationale: HighBeam was basically an archive of regularly published material. When they pulled the plug on Highbeam, they took all of those archives and made them useless. (As you know, the same thing occurred with Questia.) So, unless the waybackers made archives of the HighBeam urls, we (as editors and readers) basically had nothing to use for Verification. Unfortunately, many of the wayback archive urls are useless. Some only give a partial repeat of the story title, some give a story title and a bit of author, journal, date info. Some give partial renditions of the original sources. With all this in mind, I think WP:Verification is fulfilled when we can point to the original-original source. That's all we need. In the particular case which I re-reverted the archive of the HighBeam archive only had two sentences from the original source. Those sentences did not Verify any original material. I hope all the verbage explains what I've been trying to do overall. Thanks. – S. Rich (talk) 16:24, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for explaining that to me. I understand completely. I only added it back because there were archived links in place. Like you state, the archive bot was not successful in crawling the Highbeam articles entirely and the resource is now defunct. I still view the loss of Highbeam as a terrible shame, especially since editors worked so hard extracting information from it, only to have the whole website removed and make verifiability so difficult.Rain the 1 18:07, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reece and Krista Sinclair[edit]

Hey, User:Raintheone. If you haven't already seen, I'm writing up an article for Reece Sinclair, you can find the draft here. In the development section, I'm trying to include a section about her sister, Krista, but I'm struggling to find sources. I'm looking for sources that have either actors may explaining their relationship or the storyline, but not just articles that explain what's happening in the show with no BTS.
