A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Rakesh Mohan Mehra, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (your reason here) --Rakesh Mohan Mehra (talk) 11:56, 19 June 2017 (UTC) this page contains information on Mr Rakesh Mohan Mehra's career, linking readers to all of the projects ever conducted by him. It also contains information on the company he commenced in accordance of his works and has been edited to avoid any promotional messages. Thus, I humbly request Wikipedia to not delete this page. Thank you.[reply]

Hi, thanks for message. You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. I deleted your article because your user page is for you to tell us about your activities on Wikipedia, not to write about yourself. Even if you had posted it as an article, it would still have been deleted because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, as defined in the link, or they will be deleted. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to him, press releases, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what he claims or interviewing him. Most of your text was unreferenced, and your only references were IMDB, which can be edited by him, and his own company website, no independent third party sources
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic.
  • Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: high number of critical acclaim and awards... 8 awards and 7 nominations, including two BAFTA awards...d 6 awards and 3 nominations across multiple international... most commercially successful... there are no independent sources to confirm that any of that is true
  • there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections. that's particularly the case when they are spamlinks to him, his films and his companies.
  • it's all about what the company organisation does, little about the company itself other than locations. To show notability you need hard verifiable facts such as the number of employees, turnover or profits.
  • You have an obvious conflict of interest when it comes to editing articles about yourself. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that you are notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest and Wikipedia:Autobiography.
  • It may be that you are not him, but you are writing on his behalf. If that is the case, you are very strongly discouraged from from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly. Regardless, if you are paid directly or indirectly by him or his company, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Rakesh Mohan Mehra. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Rakesh Mohan Mehra|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.
