Copy and pasting

Decline reason:

In order to lift the block, we need to be certain that you understand how copyright works on Wikipedia. To allow the reviewing administrator to assess your understanding, please respond to the following questions in your next unblock appeal, explaining in your own words:

  • What is copyright?
  • How is Wikipedia licenced?
  • Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia?
  • Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content?
  • How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future?

Your answers will enable us to establish whether or not you should be unblocked. Yamla (talk) 23:13, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

An article you recently created, Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Ways to improve Journal of Polymorphic Perversity

[edit]

Hello, Ramez Nashat,

Thanks for creating Journal of Polymorphic Perversity! I edit here too, under the username Cwmhiraeth and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:-

Besides copying and pasting from the source, you have got the name of the journal wrong. It should be "Journal of Polymorphous Perversity"

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Cwmhiraeth}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

What is copyright? Copyright is an automatic right, protected by the law, in several nations, the creator of any work can concede that right partially or entirely. It is temporary, copyright is one of two sorts of innovation rights, the other is patents, How is Wikipedia licenced? Through Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License (CC BY-SA) and the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia? Because violating copyrights affects creators and incurs legal consequences for Wikimedia foundation Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content? Every innovative work is automatically copyrighted, Wikipedia must have authorization to utilize copyrighted works. unless it belongs to public domain, we can contact the copyright holders and ask them to allow us to use it under the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License (CC BY-SA) or a CC BY-SA-compatible license, also the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future? I really didn't understand that I can't copy small excerpts, as in Youtube, I will never copy paste again anything for a copyrighted work, thank you. Ramez Nashat 14:20, 21 January 2019 (UTC)

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:32, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You violated copyright while defending yourself against your block for copyright violations. As such, to prevent further risk to Wikipedia, I have revoked talk page access. Another administrator will be along shortly to review your request. --Yamla (talk) 11:52, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
