Vandalism warning (Clocks (song))

You tell me. Someone using your IP address vandalised the article Clocks (song). RationalBlasphemist (Speak) 06:29, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Expand French

[edit]

Hi, welcome to Wikipedia. I guess you don't know this but speedy deletion tags are not usually used on articles which are stubs of other language wikipedia articles. Editors are invited to improve such articles. Cheers. In ictu oculi (talk) 04:00, 23 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I just though since the English article didn't seem to indicate notability, speedy deletion was in order. In any case, I've removed the CSD tag, although I'm not good enough with French to be able to properly translate anything from the French Wikipedia and be sure of it's accuracy. Thanks for letting me know about that policy. RationalBlasphemist (Speak) 04:09, 23 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Joiden

[edit]

[Imported from userpage] — Why delete it?? Its me claiming it. —Unsigned comment by Eggonoitix at 07:36, 23 July 2014‎ (UTC)[reply]

I assume you mean Joiden? Wikipedia is an encyclopædia, information in it has to be notable. You can't just say something is notable, there generally has to be third party reporting on the subject showing it to be notable. See what Wikipedia is, what Wikipedia isn't, and notability. Antonio Lievano

[edit]

Hello User:RationalBlasphemist, Those edits were made on purpose with instruction from Antonino :) I stated on the talk page that I am a paid editor who was employed by him. Baxter1989 (talk) 08:08, 23 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I was under the impression that that edit was vandalism to the article, if you say it's not, fair enough, I'll stay out of it. However, you should be aware that Wikipedia is intended to be a neutral, unbiased collection of knowledge, therefore if you work for the subject of the article, and especially if you are being paid to edit the article, you have to be very cautious. See neutrality, conflict of interest, and paid editing. RationalBlasphemist (Speak) 08:32, 23 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wu Tang is FOREVER! (No seriously)

[edit]

I've tried editing the years active section of this article many times. —Unsigned comment by 85.220.78.236 at 09:29, 23 July 2014‎ (UTC)[reply]

You should know that Wu-Tang is forever. Wu-Tang is for the children. —Unsigned comment by 85.220.78.236 at 09:30, 23 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is an encyclopædia, not a joke. RationalBlasphemist (Speak) 05:30, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's a Cat

[edit]

Obviously I understand that my contributions to the article weren't "constructive" in regards to the article itself, but I think you'd feel the same way if you came across the article. Go ahead, read it. It's about a cat, out of all the information in the article, the only fact that it actually knows, is that it is, in fact, a cat. The cat is significant only in that it belongs to someone famous, and, seeing that Wikipedia does not allow for pages about bands that are only known because a famous person used to be in it, the cat is famous in the same sense, and the article ought to be deleted (sorry for the excessive commas). The name of the cat is Choupette by the way, in case you didn't know what I was referring to. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.126.169.127 (talk) 22:46, 23 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There are protocols to be followed. See articles for deletion. RationalBlasphemist (Speak) 05:30, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Edit reversion (Tim Easton)

[edit]

Since I know Tim Easton personally, undoing my editing on your part was just plain silly —Unsigned comment by 417riseoverrun at 04:58, 24 July 2014‎ (UTC)[reply]

Your Majesty,
I checked that song title, and it turns out you were correct, however you should be careful about insulting people like that. I don't care if you're his damn mother, you are just a number on here, there is no way for someone to know whether or not you know someone personally or not. Speedy deletion declined: Horacio Cambeiro

[edit]

Hello RationalBlasphemist. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Horacio Cambeiro, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: sufficiently different from the deleted version that it'll need to go back to AFD. Thank you. Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 07:28, 25 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I wasn't the one who initially put the CSD tag in place, I just put it back after the article creator removed it contrary to policy. In any case, thanks for letting me know. RationalBlasphemist (Speak) 07:34, 25 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fazlur Rahman Khan is the guy's full name, it's a textbook example of a good redirect. RationalBlasphemist (Speak) 08:10, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your experience with Wikipedia so far

Hello RationalBlasphemist,

I am conducting research about newcomers to Wikipedia and I was hoping to ask you some questions. I’ve noticed you’ve had some good activity recently. Is there any chance you have time in the next month to speak with me? If you are interested or have any questions, please email me at gmugar [at] syr.edu or leave a message on my talk page.

I hope to be in touch soon,

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
