"Jimmy" James Henry Whalen[edit]

Unfortunately I have had to remove the text of this page because it was copied from the Royal Canadian Air Force site. If you have permission to copy from this site then please say so, and this fascinating and uplifting biography can be restored. Sorry about this, but Wikipedia has to be careful of people's copyrights. Sam Blacketer 21:42, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that is my page. whalen.rcaf.com It's not the official page of the RCAF. --Rattusnorvegicus 15:15, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's good to hear! In that case, there is a procedure suggested at the top of Wikipedia:Copyright problems for getting this confirmed. Basically, either edit the page on www.rcaf.com to show that you release it under the GNU free documentation licence, or send an email from an rcaf.com email address to permissions-en@wikimedia.org to explain that you are the copyright owner. In the meantime I'll add a note to the talk page of the article to say that it's likely to return soon. Thanks for your help. Sam Blacketer 23:46, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a line to the bottom of the whalen.rcaf.com page indicating the text may be freely used under terms of the WP:GFDL. I haven't used the pictures from the page as the copyright for some is unclear, we use them as they were part of Jimmy's effects. Rattusnorvegicus
