Hi Ravenpuff ... been a while since I've been doing this, I hope you're well. There are differences of opinion on those commas, but I'm sure your removal of the commas would fly if we get rid of "Governor" etc. ... what would you think of "his wife Rose McConnell Long, his son Russell B. - Hi Dank, hope all's well. Personally I'm rather ambivalent about including the job titles in this sentence – they definitely give useful background context to the political achievements of other members of the family, but also makes the phrasing a little more awkward, of course. For what it's worth, I did replicate my changes on the featured article itself, where the additional detail of job titles is probably worth keeping. There hasn't been any objection there, but I wouldn't be opposed to modifying the blurb as you suggested even if this introduces a slight discrepancy with the article lead. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 17:21, 6 September 2021 (UTC)

- @Cwmhiraeth: Apologies for this – I was working on rather little sleep at that time, and should've taken a little more time with my edits for the POTD. Lot of cooks in the kitchen with this one and there's a long history, so I'm recommending caution and soliciting opinions early. Suggestions? It's impossible to completely avoid the WP:EGG problem ... but I prefer what we've got now to some wordier alternatives. - Dank (push to talk) 15:47, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
