I'm sorry, but this has been deleted as meeting one or more of the Categories for Speedy Deletion.

Generally, articles are speedily deleted when there is no assertion of significance or they fall into things to avoid or what Wikipedia is not.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written about the subject.

Sometimes articles are deleted because they contain content copyrighted elsewhere. Such content can be used as a source of information, but the content here must be completely rewritten from scratch.

Any deficiencies with notability, sourcing, or things to avoid should be remedied before reposting as they can lead to repeated deletions.

Proposed deletion of Algebra for Dummies[edit]

The article Algebra for Dummies has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Wikipedia is not a how-to guide.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nature of Wikipedia articles[edit]

Hello.

When I saw that there is a new article titled Algebra for Dummies, I thought at first that that was the title of a book, and the article was about the book. If it's literally about algebra for dummies, then under the norms of WP:MOS, the "d" should be set in lower case. However, if it's supposed to be a collection of examples, then a different, and more prosaic, title would be more in line with the usual conventions of Wikiepedia. At any rate the article should be brought to a more complete state before it is actually made into an article. You could create a file titled User:Rayburbine/Examples_in_elementary_algebra, or something like that, and when it is sufficiently mature, move it into the article space.
