Sorry for the delay, but I wanted to make sure everything checked out. From my outside point of view, I'd agree that the sources make a good claim to what you said on the NOR noticeboard. However, the sources are suitably ambiguous and contradictory for me to err on the side of caution. Therefore I believe that more outside views are needed, maybe some more expert opinions, that may be achieved through a RFC. The announcement at WikiProject England and any daughter projects might be a good idea. I think it's because the sources are so ambiguous that further comments need to be had on the quality and validity of certain sources, that might ascertain a final decision either way.
