Sorry, but with an h-factors of 21 and no major awards from her peers she does not meet the criteria in WP:NPROF. Maybe there is more proof, but I don't see it on the page or in a quick search. Wikipedia is guilty until proven innocent when it comes to biographies.

One of the eight academic-specific criteria is a named chair at a major institute of higher education. Prof. Getman is the Bernice L. Claugus Endowed Chair at The Ohio State University. Rbgetman2 (talk) 14:37, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but you have misunderstood the criteria. Most strong departments have multiple endowed chairs, so it has to be more as OSU has been good at raising chair funding. Distinguished University Professor would probably qualify. If you are unclear then I suggest posting a question to WT:Notability (academics), but this has already been discussed in WT:Notability (academics)#Proposed deletion of C5. The criteria specifically states this:

The person has held a distinguished professor appointment at a major institution of higher education and research, a named chair appointment that indicates a comparable level of achievement, or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon.

For documenting that a person has held such an appointment (but not for a judgement of whether or not the institution is a major one), publications of the appointing institution are considered a reliable source.
Criterion 5 can be applied reliably only for persons who are tenured at the full professor level, and not for junior faculty members with endowed appointments.
Major institutions, for these purposes, are those that have a reputation for excellence or selectivity. Named chairs at other institutions are not necessarily sufficient to establish notability.

Actually I do not agree with the proposal to get rid of the "C5" criteria. Endowed chairs require significant commitment from donors and are given based on prestige. Further, it provides an avenue for creating recognition separate from the rather limited ones currently allowed for professors. Rbgetman2 (talk) 16:15, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
