External links[edit]

In general, placing a link on a bunch of articles in rapid succession is usually recognized as spamming, and is often reverted quickly. There are literally hundreds of sites like this out there and Wikipedia is not meant to be a link farm. I would suggest either discussing adding it on the appropriate article talk page or using the site as a reference (if possible) instead of a bare link. Good luck. Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. --Edcolins (talk) 20:14, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have just seen your note on User talk:Cquan. I have already added a link to it (IP Newsflash) here: Appeal procedure before the European Patent Office, because, for decisions of the EPO Boards of appeal, this site is a unique source, providing rather useful, meritable and on-topic statistics on decisions, and I think it meets WP:EL - even if it is somewhat sponsored by a legal firm. But I think it is really enough to have it there, on this article and nowhere else. See WP:EL. Thank you. --Edcolins (talk) 20:24, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have also just seen your name on the actual web site, IP Newsflash. Please see WP:COI. Thank you. It is usually not appropriate to add links to your own web site. That's considered inappropriate on Wikipedia. Thank you. But, otherwise, you are most welcome on wikipedia!! Please feel free to improve any article, of course! Cheers. --Edcolins (talk) 20:34, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
