Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Islam in Ukraine may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Ways to improve Knok Studio

[edit]

Hi, I'm Lstanley1979. ReachOutAndTouch, thanks for creating Knok Studio!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Hello there. Thank you for the article. I think it needs a few more reliable sources before it's done - try to find sources examining the group dispassionately from national sources rather than just local media interviews done with promoting the group's work in mind. If it's an internationally-operational group, maybe try to find some international pieces examining the group's impact.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. LouiseS1979 (pigeonhole) 20:31, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Also, a tip: letters from the IRS aren't generally reliable sources - they are at best primary sources, which require interpretation, and they'e not often publicly available, meaning we can't verify the source of the letter. Try to source articles from newspapers, magazines and so on, rather than relying on primary sources. If the fact the group was originally rejected as a tax-exempt group is notable (I'm not from the US so don't know the exact implications there), then there should be media discussion about it.
I've copy-edited the article, but bear in mind also we're not a place to promote your group or network with potential clients. Try to write conservatively and factually and be wary of using 'peacock' terms and listing what services the group offers. LouiseS1979 (pigeonhole) 20:36, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Lstanley1979, it's wonderful to meet you. Thank you for your patient teaching and thoughtful corrections on Knok Studio. I have since added sources that cite international involvement and have also removed the not-notable reference to the IRS 501(c)3 process (per your suggestion). Thank you very much, and please let me know if anything else comes to mind. ReachOutAndTouch (talk) 22:28, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Knok Studio

[edit]

The article Knok Studio has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability per WP:ORG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 23:44, 25 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Dr. Fleischmanand thank you for your guidance. Knok is a well known entity within the area, especially after winning a notable award from a national film festival (cited within the article). However I am having a bit of trouble: I do not want to use grandiose terminology (poppycock terms) to describe Knok as "award winning," however I cannot see any other way of describing its notability. Any advice would be greatly appreciated on how to word "award winning." For example I see "award winning" being used on The Gruffalo (film) to describe a studio.
Much obliged,
ReachOutAndTouch (talk) 00:33, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks for responding. Notability, from Wikipedia's perspective, is not about how the subject (Knok) is written about in Wikipedia; and it's not about how widely it's known by word of mouth; it's solely about what has been written about the subject in other sources such as the news. For an organization like Knok, the relevant guideline is WP:ORG. I urge you to read it. Cheers, and whatever happens to the Knok article I hope you continue to contribute to the encyclopedia. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 00:43, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you kindly for your direction and advice. I have read the WP:ORG article, however quite obviously not close enough. My apologies. I will reread it again to ensure I'm not simply trying to force a not-notable article upon Wikipedia. One thing I did catch: I mistakenly added the wrong link from IMDB. The link only referenced the film Pressed, and the user had to click on "Production company" in order to see Knok as a listed company. That is of course, one too many clicks. I will correct the Wikipedia article with the appropriate IMDB link that cites Knok Studio directly as being responsible for Pressed. Thank you again for your guidance, and yes I will continue to do my best to contribute valuable and notable information to the World's Encyclopedia. ReachOutAndTouch (talk) 00:55, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well you only need one source per tidbit of content. And I'm not totally sure about this, but I think Wikipedia considers IMDb to be an unreliable source. I'll have to do a bit of research on that. Regardless, one problem with these sources is that they don't tie Pressed to Knok Studios. If Chevassus made Pressed not under the Knok Studios name then perhaps Pressed should be included in an article about Chevassus, but not this article about Knok. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 01:15, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
A good point--possibly distinguishing Knok Studio from Chevassus. However a part of what makes Knok notable is Chevassus' involvement, in the same way Nancy Reagan was an instrumental figure for the "Just say No" anti-drug campaigns (not a perfect example, but I trust you understand my attempted parallel between a figure with a known track record creating an organization). Goodness! So many articles to which I'd like to contribute! But staying focused: That brings up a good point regarding referencing IMDB--in order to get published works on IMDB, I believe (I cannot be 100% sure) the film must be submitted by the festival itself (not a subjective first party, as one would do on YouTube). After it is accepted to the film festival, it is published on IMDB. But please correct me if I am wrong... I shall have to do a bit more research myself. In the mean time, in attempt to avoid 'peacock' terms, such as "award-winning" I created and cited a completely new section titled "Awards." Please take a look when you have a chance--I greatly appreciate your feedback and your valuable time DrFleischman.

Could we please continue any discussions at Talk:Knok Studio? Really, that's where they belong to make it easier for others who might be interested to jump in. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 05:32, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely, I'll copy my above thoughts and place them on Talk:Knok Studio so others who express interest may chime in. Thank you again for your fine-tuning and guidance.

Your submission at Articles for creation: Enumclaw City Council (February 15)

[edit]
Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by SounderBruce was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Governing bodies for small cities that get almost no outside coverage are generally not notable. All of this information should be transmitted on the main article for the city.
