Again, welcome! Why should I have a User Name? (talk) 15:38, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP addresses are 88.198.38.75/32 and 2a01:4f8:a0:13ee::/64 . The server running those addresses has never been an open proxy. I am the administrator and I'm 100% sure about that. The block is dated from before this was installed (2015) and has a ridiciulious big size of /16 for IPv4 and /32 for IPv6. I guess that was one of the historic failures of blocking way too much. Decline reason:

These IP's are both blocked as they are webhosts / colocation servers.

Both belong to Hetzner a dedicated server / cloud computing platform - which you appear to acknowledge in your unblock request.

We typically block webhost / colocation hosts as anonymizing proxies, per m:NOP, and the first line at Wikipedia:Open_proxies#Policy.

You will need to disable your VPN in order to edit here. SQLQuery me! 03:36, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
