Unblocked

[edit]

Following a successful appeal to arbcom, your former account User:Receptie123 has been unblocked and tagged as a former account belonging to you. Please keep in mind that you are expected to use one account only, User:Reception123. If you think you might want to use a legitimate alternate account, such as for editing on public networks, please contact arbcom first. Also, take the time to review policies on the English Wikipedia, as they may have changed since you last edited and are not the same as policies on the Simple Wikipedia where you have been working recently. Thanks. Opabinia regalis (talk) 19:12, 3 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much! --Reception123 (talk) 05:42, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Flags of Europe

[edit]

My contribution is constructive. Greenland is part of North America, no Europe. --188.76.180.142 (talk) 15:06, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I'm getting used to EnWiki again. --Reception123 (talk) 04:42, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest policy

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Reception123. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. --Ronz (talk) 17:41, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I can confirm that I am NOT that person, nor the User:Amanda, which is likely the same person. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 20:25, 24 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your confirmation. Reception123 (talk) 11:43, 25 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Note

Yes, I am. Thanks! – SJ + 16:40, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry but by "Yes" do you mean "Yes, I am this user" or "Yes, I confirm I am not this person". Again, sorry for bothering but I would just like to be able to confirm. Reception123 (talk) 16:41, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your answer. After submitting, I thought about it and wanted to retract, but I did not find where I could do so. Reception123 (talk) 15:32, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
See if you can get a review of Miraheze and other wikifarms by some open knowledge paper / blog. It is clearly the best service available for free-content wikis, and you would both get outside confirmation of where it sits in the universe of wiki hosting, some news publicity, and your first notable cite. A couple of those and a bit more information about the sites using the service (say, a report from the University paper about the classes using student wikis?), and it would make a fine article. – SJ + 15:14, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Sj: Thank you very much for your help! I've tried (and contacted) a few sites with past articles, but haven't had too much success. Maybe you could direct me to some of these blogs / papers that might be interested in writing about wiki services? I will see what I can do about the university.
