Image copyright problem with Image:Eb97 1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Eb97 1.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 09:40, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I recommend you bring the article to FLC because it's pretty much there. I stumbled across the article and saw that you had done the bulk of the work; you should go ahead and nominate it as it deserves that FL star :) Gary King (talk) 02:20, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, they are one of my favorite bands and so I stumbled across the article. It's not that far off from FL so it'd be nice to see it get that star. Gary King (talk) 22:04, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Long time no see[edit]

First i've supportet the white stripes awards and you should really consider to nominate the White Stripes discography. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 13:15, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the support, have you got any nominated lists currently? And I probably will re-submit the discography if the awards looks certain to get passed. Red157(talkcontribs) 16:35, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah i have. The current are Josh Homme discography (re-nominated), List of Bryan Adams awards, List of Soundgarden band members and List of Roman Emperors and i'm pretty sure that the award list will pass. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 18:09, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's good you've re-submitted the Josh Homme discography. Though I think more people need to be educated about how different Josh Homme is to most musicians with discographies. He's basically like Eric Clapton, as in he's the founder of so many bands. Will look at your other lists. Red157(talkcontribs) 18:49, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
On another thing, I'm glad you've started bring Rated R up to scratch, but per wikipedia conduct, I've had to remove the category names with currently no content. I think you should create yourself a Sandbox for future use. Red157(talkcontribs) 19:17, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
First thanks for your support. And i'm goin to expand those sections/categories, i did the same thing with the Waking Up the Neighbours article. But its not that importent anyway. Oh and i do have a sandbox see User:Be Black Hole Sun/Sandbox i just don't use it that much. Be Black Hole Sun (talk · contribs)
Yes, yes i did. Hope its okay. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 13:10, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We did, cool. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 14:14, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Now i get it. Your planning to work on it. Oh and can you review the List of Bryan Adams awards, its running out of time. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 14:59, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks and i couldn't help it so i fixed somethings on the Feast discography oh and remember the FLN for List of Bryan Adams awards expires today or tomorrow i think. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 17:38, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed the problems with the List of Bryan Adams awards. Be Black Hole Sun (talk · contribs)
Another favour to ask, can you review the Pink Floyd discography. It's running out of time. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 09:56, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sad about your wikibreak. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 10:04, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah its great that the Josh Homme discography became a FL and i've supported the White Stripes list. Oh do you really think that the Reckless (album) should became a Good topic. But either way thanks for the comment. Great job on the No One Knows article]]. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 12:08, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Haha, I'm surprised someone noticed. I thought as I was planning to vanish, I may as well remove it. And that QOTSA info is certinly wiki-worthy, but besides purchasing an issue of NME (Something I've realised contravenes my policy of not buying NME) I'm not sure how to add it. Good news on the music front, though. Red157(talkcontribs) 18:26, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's huge! Huge enough to actually be read! Thanks. And do you mean ripping into n00bz on wikipedia, as I've done that before and apparently it's not encouraged. Red157(talkcontribs)

Canvassing[edit]

Hey Red. No offence. I just didn't want to anything to stand in the way of a promotion. Your wording could have been more neutral. That's all I meant. Certainly nothing personal. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:23, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's fine. I do take things a bit too seriously and I'm surprised I've never been offered a cup of tea in my time here. And I've kind of not respected your authority as an administrator at times in the past, but I promise to be a more professional user from this point on. Red157 19:32, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, treat me as you see fit, being an admin means nothing in that respect. Good luck with the FLC. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:34, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: List of awards and nominations received by The White Stripes[edit]

Well I removed "Shockwaves NME Awards", not all of NME. I did that because there isn't a Wikipedia article solely dedicated to the award, so I don't think it's sufficiently notable enough to be included in the awards list. This has been a constant problem – including non-notable awards, and it's been decided that if an awards show has its own dedicated article to the awards ceremony (not the parent of the awards ceremony, like a magazine), then it can be included in the awards list. Gary King (talk) 15:25, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The "Shockwaves NME Awards" is the NME Awards. Shockwaves is just the sponsor. Both the British NME Awards and NME Awards USA are present on that page. Red157 (talkcontribs) 15:32, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:NoOneKnows.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:NoOneKnows.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:35, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Red157. Based on the templates on your talk page, I would like you to consider joining the Article Rescue Squadron. Rescue Squadron members are focused on rescuing articles for deletion, that might otherwise be lost forever. I think you will find our project matches your vision of Wikipedia. Article Rescue Members are not necessarily inclusionists, all wikipedians are warmly welcome to join.~~~~

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Tmb 060301fivefifteeners14.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:14, 31 August 2009 (UTC). Them Crooked Vultures and 3RR[edit]

Thanks I appreciate your note on my talk and it appears that you did break WP:3RR in letter and spirit, but I don't see any point in reporting it, as you are clearly willing to discuss the matter on talk there and at my user page. I don't see any compelling reason to include some other acts, but if their inclusion is supported by sourced text in the article, then it's fine (actually desirable.) I would recommend that once you have inserted relevant portions into the text and that the text in question has verifiable citations, you add an HTML comment justifying it, because I can easily see someone coming along to delete them as I did. If you need to respond, please do so on my talk. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 18:46, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
