Requesting WP:UNC from WP:REALNAME[edit]

Please unblock this so I can change my username to "delete" my account.

Accounts cannot be deleted. What username would you request if renamed? You might be thinking about vanishing, instead? CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n! 05:33, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Very sorry for all the trouble, I am a noob to Wikipedia. I filed for a name request, but it was denied on the grounds that I was blocked or something along those lines. Yes, I do want to vanish. This is why I filed for a username change a second time, and I plan to have my user page and user talk page both deleted after getting my username changed. After this I will remove my email and I should be off of Wikipedia. I just need some assistance in changing my username and getting myself unblocked or whatever. Not sure how I can fix this situation...

Vanishing is only available to users in good standing, which you are not as you are blocked, and you won't be unblocked merely to vanish. You will need to just abandon your account if you no longer wish to participate here. 331dot (talk) 09:06, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This has not answered anything. I was only blocked because I requested it. Yes, I know I need to vanish, I just did the steps in the wrong order. I requested my user page to be deleted before changing my username which blocked me from being allowed to change my username. I am a minor, I just want my name removed which I have the legal right to do both in the EU and in Southern California where I reside.

Widr Is that an accurate assessment? 331dot (talk) 10:04, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure what is going on here, trolling or genuine incompetence, but the block was not requested by the user and their activity certainly has nothing to do with building an encyclopedia. Feel free to do as you wish with this one. Widr (talk) 11:08, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • You have no contributions other than to this page(and one on your now-deleted user page), so I'm not sure why you want to vanish, and I don't think that one would be granted. Note that a vanishing does not typically involve user talk pages being deleted. If a law requires Wikipedia to do something with your account, you or (more likely) your parent or guardian will need to contact the Wikimedia Foundation, probably using the contact information for legal matters on that page. 331dot (talk) 11:29, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
While I understand the concern, the reasoning I am receiving here is very flawed. Why exactly would a troll not have any activity on Wikipedia then ask to be vanished? I don't want my name on the account, that is why I want the username changed. At this point I am being the one trolled by both the moderators of this site and Wikipedia itself. I created the account to save articles on the app, instead a full blown wikipedia account was created for me. No one has so far given me a proper explanation to "their activity certainly has nothing to do with building an encyclopedia." What exactly did I do with account I made no contributions to that seems so shady?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Ayman.alamairy (talkcontribs)
You could have saved articles in a browser as bookmarks on your end instead of using the app. When you create a Wikipedia account, you create an account, there are not levels of accounts or accounts for certain purposes. If you are just saving articles, then you aren't here to contribute to the encyclopedia and the block is valid. Merely reading Wikipedia and saving articles to read is not impaired by the block, the block only prevents editing. As you have made no contributions, and no one has access to your saved articles, there is nothing to vanish. 331dot (talk) 13:00, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If I were you I would take this as a life lesson to be more careful when signing up for accounts on websites; make sure you know what you are getting into and read everything before doing so. 331dot (talk) 13:02, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately it's too late for you to be telling me all this. I got blocked very recently if you can't tell and I have been trying to delete my account for two weeks almost. I know how to bookmark things, but the app on both Android and iOS specifically say that the account allows you to save articles. I did read the app's wording very well and it is deceiving. I sent a request to the Wikipedia legal team to have this harassment investigated. Thank you very much for the "admin help" it must be great spending all your time on a computer harassing other users.

"Admin help" tags are no longer necessary. I am harassing no one, I am responding to your request. Yes, saving articles is one feature of an account, but it is not the only feature. If you have done as requested, there is nothing more to be done here. 331dot (talk) 13:18, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
