Edmonton Edits

[edit]

Thank you for your extensive updates to the Edmonton article. I think it desperately needed them. However, I think some of the information is more applicable to an "Edmonton Community Wiki". In particular, some of the information you have included is not encyclopedic in nature and is ideally suited to a community wiki. For example, encylopedias do not generally contain information directed to tourists and residents in the style of a "guide" or "travel guide". For example, the section on Nightlife includes links to entertainment magazines. Basically, I think the article is getting too long and is diverging to far from being concise. Unfortunately, there is no Edmonton Community Wiki in existense yet, which is a shame because most other large cities have them and they are presented as more of a city "guide". If you feel this style is information is important, I think it would be great to start the Edmonton Community Wiki. Here is a link to the Calgary Community Wiki as an example of what I'm talking about [1]. You might also wish to start new articles as a way of presenting more detailed information that is too long for the general article. For instance, I don't think there is an article specifically for Whyte Avenue yet (I could be wrong). Cheers! -Tyson2k

Good to find you on here. (if this is who I think it is....) It seems that our interests have caused our paths to cross yet again. See you around! Onishenko 02:14, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That wasn't a test...that was part of the ongoing effor to summarize the main Edmonton article and create sub-articles. Rendar 17:24, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edmonton

[edit]

Rendar, could you please go through your recent edits to Edmonton, Alberta and remove the point-of-view? I don't want to have to revert them. You cannot say things like "premiere event" or "crown jewel of this or that", or even, "one of the most popular...". All of it is against Wikipedia NPOV policy. Thank-you! --Arch26 00:48, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was condensing points that were already there into paragraph form. You're welcome to remove them as well. Rendar 05:27, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies. It looked like you had added them. --Arch26 01:04, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edmonton baseball teams

[edit]

Another editor has created a number of articles about Edmonton baseball teams. Could you please take a quick look at them and make any changes that seem appropriate?
