Speedy deletion nomination of Ultimate Study Method[edit]

A tag has been placed on Ultimate Study Method, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. This page was amended from its previous deleted version to remove any items that may promote a single product. At present it simply provides information about the study system called "Ultimate Study Method"; it makes no statements about its efficacy and does not promote it in any way. The website link for the USM site was also removed. In fact there is also a criticism in the second paragraph stating that the method uses elements which are not original and actually exist in other study techniques Rerumcognitionis (talk) 13:46, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have tried to create this page before and it was deleted; I then asked for advice from the person who has flagged it for deletion and I believe I have modified it accordingly. Status and Advice[edit]

As reviewing administrator, I deleted the article for the second time after another admin deleted it a few days ago.

Although it may not mention the name of the company specifically, there is a company by that name, & it nonetheless clearly is intended to promote it. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia , and can not be used for that purpose.

Additionally, a Wikipedia article needs to show notability with references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. An article that does not do so will be deleted here in one or another of our methods. If you do have such references for the method, and the method describes more than this one company's offerings, give it a try. Without them, don't even attempt it.

As a general rule, a suitable page will be best written by someone without Conflict of Interest; it's not impossible to do it properly with a conflict of interest or as a paid press agent, but it's relatively more difficult: you are automatically thinking in terms of what the subject wishes to communicate to the public, but an uninvolved person will think in terms of what the public might wish to know.
