Hello, RetireIT, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. A tag has been placed on your user page, User:RetireIT, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. :3 F4U (they/it) 20:05, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

Secretlondon, I understand the block. I requested my username be renamed. What happens to this talk page or the draft article if the rename is granted? Thanks RetireIT (talk) 22:01, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Secretlondon, I just received a rejection. The request to rename "RetireIT" to "First&Fifteen" could not be completed.
Note from the declining user: There's more to your block than just the username. Your account has also been used for advertising and/or promotion. Please deal with the problem through an unblock request on your user talk page according to the instructions given. Would you mind unblocking Retire-IT so I can remove anything that is a violation because I'm not able to fulfill the directive. If that is not possible, do I start fresh and create a new user? And if so, what happens to the draft article that is awaiting approval? Thanks. RetireIT (talk) 02:10, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think I'm in a Catch-22 because I'm not able to correct anything. I just tried to create a brand new user, and it was disallowed. This is very disheartening because I'm not trying to break any rules. I did not realize the username RetireIT violated a policy. I created it in 2015. I spent hours creating my first article. I also wrote a paragraph bio on my user page because I thought I was supposed to, so users knew who wrote the article and why they were qualified. I am not trying to do anything wrong. Please advise. Thank you, Kyle RetireIT (talk) 02:29, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I would like to write about ITAD without mentioning my own company, as the industry is a growing one that has earned SEC attention.

Decline reason:

"First and Fifteen" would be acceptable as a new username. Your user page was deleted because it was being used as a social media style page, which it is not- it is a place for the named user to tell about themselves as a Wikipedia editor or user only. Please read conflict of interest and paid editing(as I assume you are compensated as the CEO of your company). Writing about ITAD squarely falls within your conflict of interest, so we will want to first see a history of edits in areas unrelated to your COI before permitting you to indirectly contribute about things related to your COI. Please tell us what other areas you might edit in. If your only goal here is to edit about your industry, this is the end of the road. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:37, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I plan to contribute to other topics of interest, including the City of Upper Arlington, Ohio, and college football. RetireIT (talk) 12:49, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I also plan to contribute to emerging privacy legislation such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). RetireIT (talk) 12:50, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You need to make another unblock request for someone else to review. 331dot (talk) 07:45, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No. You've demonstrated you are incapable of editing appropriately in that subject area. You need to build up a substantial history of appropriate edits before we'd be comfortable with you editing in that subject area again. Yamla (talk) 09:50, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed your request so it will be seen. Someone else will review your request. 331dot (talk) 15:58, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
