Request to reconsider deletion of the Hemobag

Hi, W. Marsh,

You deleted The Hemobag but I have permission from the company to create the wikipedia entry (let me know what proof of permission that you need).

Although the Hemobag is a commercial product, it is legitimately one of about 3 ways to process and transfuse a patient's own autologous blood during surgery. Moreover, the article is loaded with valuable background information on blood salvaging and educational references on "bloodless surgery" and bloodless surgey websites and also takes a neutral point of view on the product.

I note that wikipedia has other entires on blood salvage companies, most notably [Haemonetics]: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haemonetics They have a company entry with none of the educational material that I used in the Hemobag entry. Seems weird to me!

Please reconsider deletion of the Hemobag or let me know what I can do to make it acdceptable. Many thanks.

broadband elite

Hi

I was just wondering how often you would review an article that has been flagged with: {{notability}} I have added some more content to Broadband_Elite but im not sure on wether this has increased it's 'importance' or not, and wether it is now 'noteable'.

Cleanup date

Hi. Just curious why you changed the date format in Dave Duncan (baseball)? Those are supposed to be basically equivalent in Wikipedia, i.e., they would both get changed to match the reader's date preference. Thanks for uploading Image:Jason schmidt2.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an arguement why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Hi, can you take a look at this AfD? Usual procedure with a delete consensus is to delete the article (to get rid of the history) and, if out of process recreation is anticipated, add the {{deleted}} template. Probably doesn't seem like a big deal but getting rid of the history of deleted articles is important for clarity should future issues arise, and perhaps for legal reasons as well. Good point! This is something that I neglected to do with this article, so thank you for pointing it out to me. I have now deleted the page and applied a {{deletedpage}} tag to prevent its recreation, as pointed out in the AfD. You were right spotting that it was an excerpt of another site (as you pointed out), but as you could have seen, I'm both the autor of the text (about myself), but also CEO and owner of the company from which website the excerpt was taken.

Agreed, don't they all? I searched WP for those that are in my circle, and some entries are called "stubs". Since there are several other additions to be added to the wiki, including key new terms used in books from this person's entry, what is the best approach? Again, the guidelines were followed, but if the autobiographical component is too strong, we will be happy to edit it out and stick with key points. OK, we will try to edit as fit. Again, when searched by people in same circle, and who we know, the content is very much the same. We searched 25 people who fit the same criteria and again, who we also know, and the MO is the same. Every idea in the Wiki is a promotion. It is promotion of the idea, the concept, the person. • Well, you can recreate the article as long as it's substantially changed from the deleted version (this is true of most deleted articles). I didn't say that they were inappropriate for Wikipedia, I said that they might be. They might be vanity pages or they might concern people who are not sufficiently notable, for instance.

If you don't want to be "policed," you may not want to be here. Other editors may dramatically edit your article, and if they think it's not sufficiently notable, they will nominate it for deletion (typically this means that there will be a discussion before the article is deleted, so a nomination for deletion isn't the final word -- if enough people believe that the article should be kept, it will be). Unfortunately, if we don't keep an eye on the encyclopedia and cull articles that are non-notable or otherwise don't belong, we get a lot of useless and joke articles that take up tons of server space but are never used or read by anyone except maybe their creators. If you "don't subscribe" to "policing," well, you aren't going to change the entire community on this point, so you should maybe spend your time somewhere that won't frustrate you.

That said, I haven't seen the article that you're trying to write, and so I can't judge whether it's a good page, a vanity page, an ad, whatever. So none of this is trying to judge your article -- I'm just trying to explain a little bit of how Wikipedia works so that you can understand the community better and decide whether you want to participate in it.

- Thanks for your help W.marsh . We will resubmit and let others edit. As far as the others we searched, they have been on Wikipedia for sometime as I believe no one has questioned the notability of the profile they hold or are known by the circles they hold or even the public in general. We have found "this" experience at Wikipedia though somewhat elitist and not very friendly. I work with editors all over the world and have never found such a downed experience for such a simple task. As far as the above user Hbackman comments, I read your user page and it seems to me you are exactly the reason Wikipedia is a little out of control. The user content seems to show that some feel they have a certain power over all, and never for the common good. -MK

• I think the article on VBus should be undeleted as Vbus is the only bus simulator available to the general public. (there is also a trolleybus simulator SimTR, which has buses, but it isn't as good as Vbus.) I think the deletion of this article reduces the quality of Wikipedia.
