Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Hey everyone! It's been quite a while since the last newsletter went out but it's time to tune up those guitars, set the amps to 11, and rock out a bit. Or for us old guys, put on the fingerpicks and set the amp to 3. A lot of people have been laboring away at guitar articles and their efforts are to be applauded. If you haven't edited in a while, why not pick an article from Category:Stub-Class guitarist articles and expand it? Or better yet, pick one from the article requests and create it. More tasks can be found on the main project page in the WikiProject Guitarists open tasks box.

Volunteers needed
The Guitar equipment task force needs editors to work on guitar equipment articles. Many articles for guitar manufacturers, guitar models, amps, and effects are basically one-sentence stubs or written like advertisements. If you're interested in this type of article, visit the task force page to sign up and browse Category:Guitar equipment task force articles for things to work on.
My motivation for adding the goals was simply to end the squabble over whether he had so-called "rescued" the guitar from "Gypsy" influences. They can't argue with his own words!
I am surprised at the intensity of this debate, we don't observe it surrounding other historical musical figures who often possesed similar inflated egos. It is good to examine the issue but not long ago the article was almost vitriolic.
My view is that probably he had to have such a personality to achieve as he did . Or perhaps it's a national thing - my principle guitar teacher was also a Spaniard, and a participant in Segovia's classes in early '60's, he possessed a similar streak of "self assurance" verging on the dictatorial.
As you are aware approaches to performance change and evolve.
I don't see that we should remove his stated goals just because the first couple rankle or we disagree with them. These goals were his, not ours, and seem to underpin most of the myth (or hyperbole, if you prefer) that he created or that surrounded him. I'd prefer and suggest that the five points be rationally addressed in the following section rather than remove them completely. So treat them as invitation for further information(/discussion?) Hello all! Time for the next installment of the WikiProject Guitarists newsletter. I recently went through and trimmed the member list again to remove inactive participants. I haven't been too active recently because I'm finishing a Master's degree but I'll have some more free time coming up. I will probably spend some time cleaning up equipment articles since many of them read like adverts or contain no useful information.
We have a lot of great people working on the project, including professional guitarists and even luthiers. We have the potential to write a lot of great articles. Articles about guitarists/composers - threat of deletion[edit]
Hello Rguitphil,
I noticed that you write articles about guitarists/composers, so I thought you might want to vote in the current debate about deleting James Lentini's page:
Someone wants to delete it because he thinks Lentini is not notable enough to be included in Wikipedia, and he goes on to say that he thinks lots of other composers/musicians should be deleted, too, because he doesn't think they are notable enough either. So, I thought you might want to chime in with your own vote (Keep or Delete), since you seem to know a bit about classical guitarists/composers. Thanks... You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box.
