Reviews[edit]

Hi Monotonehell, I just want to ask if like in an artist page, if one puts in the whole expert review in the article for that artist would there be a copyright issue? Like for instance from AllMusic, however we will acknowledge them.

I know what WKP is doing is that they just put a link to the expert artist review. But how about putting in the whole review and just acknowledge them will there be a copyright issue?

Since I plan to start an artist page. Thanks and your immediate response is highly appreciated.

Respectfully yours,

Ric168

Hi Ric168, In future please don't email me, just use my talk page. I like to keep all my discussions public, as is the spirit of Wikipedia.
To answer your question. That would be out and out plagiarism. Copyright issues aside, that's just plain bad form. You can quote a pertinent sentence or two within your article, as long as you attribute the quote to its source.
You may be interested in reading Wikipedia:Your first article, if you haven't already. Don't worry too much, if you make a mistake, someone will probably come along and correct it in a short while. If you're unsure about things, it's probably best to lurk around other articles and talk pages to see how things are done. Also have a look at the policies listed above. If you have any other questions hit my talk page. --Monotonehell 10:12, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
