DAB page styling

Please be aware that the style for disambiguation pages differs from that for article pages, in particular there should only be one link per line. Thanks, Rich257 (talk) 15:40, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

My mistake. Will not happen again. Mkpumphrey (talk) 15:42, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Disused railway stations in Essex

Hi Rich257. I note you have removed my Category:Disused railway stations in Essex twice from the Saffron Walden articles. If, as I suspect you are saying, it is intended to include every single closed station as a separate article, then I wonder why two halts on the line had an article and not the main town? Much the same has occurred with the Elsenham & Thaxted Light Railway which I have put in the Disused category too: all the stations are listed on the Railway article, so that the Category in effect leads a reader to them: I see what you are saying about the town of Saffron Walden - although its article does mention the station & branch - but why the line itself? There is absolutely nothing left of most of the erstwhile stopping places ... is it a case of "never mind the quality - feel the width" in Wikipedia? Peter Shearan (talk) 13:28, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

The reason Saffron Walden doesn't have an article for the station is that no-one has written one (yet). The route diagrams link to the station articles, often the article mentions the town and then links to the town where there's no railway station article.
If the article is about the line then why should it be in the category for railway stations — it's not about railway stations? Neither the Braintree Branch Line nor the Saffron Walden Railway mention the stations, except in the route diagram. Looking at Category:Disused railway stations in Suffolk there are no town articles here, not for Norfolk or Cambridgeshire. Why should Essex be different? Rich257 (talk) 13:39, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
