I've asked Dave souza to comment on your question at Talk:Charles_Darwin#Mockingbirds?. Until then, I've reverted your change after adding a comment. I think this is a case where a little known fact just sounds 'wrong', because that's not what we remember, because 'they' didn't tell us all the nitty-gritty details!
