August 2012[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to Sign "O" the Times does not have an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history. Thanks! Dan56 (talk) 02:23, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at 20Ten. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Dan56 (talk) 04:08, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summary?[edit]

Hey guy. Use an edit summary (WP:FIES). It's pretty convenient, considering the little area for you to type in a few words is right under the editing space. I reverted your recent edits to Around the World in a Day and The Gold Experience, because they appeared to be unconstructive. Dan56 (talk) 10:13, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

They were self-explanatory. RikBak (talk) 13:39, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You're right! An unsourced addition to the infobox, rearranging the labels contrary to how their shown in the source cited, and frivolously adding "US" to the chart names are obvious...ly disruptive:

Please stop your disruptive editing, as you did at The Gold Experience. Your edits have been reverted or removed.

Do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively may result in your being blocked from editing. Dan56 (talk) 13:51, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Don't be stubborn, get used to using an edit summary, along with adhering to other basic Wikipedia policies and guidelines, including citing sources. Dan56 (talk) 13:59, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not stubborn. I use the edit summary but I don't see why every single edit needs to have an edit summary. Explain how adding the date recorded and adding the chart's country is disruptive. RikBak (talk) 22:21, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
