Thanks for your comments about your dad. I go with the statements I can back up with sources. The TAC/USATF Masters athlete of the year is probably available somewhere but I don't have it immediately at my fingertips. It will certainly show up in the mass of data we will be posting at masters history.org, a USATF project which was created out of my idea. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to read all that new content, much of which I also have in paper in the garage. The California result is a little harder to find. I'm in California and my great reference is Hank Lawson's http://lynbrooksports.prepcaltrack.com/ATHLETICS/TRACK/stateres.htm but 1942-45 has no results. We will need to find it somewhere else.
