Books on GN'R

Hey Ringerfan, I was wondering if you have some books (printed or digital) about Guns N' Roses? I wanted to improve some articles about them, and it would be very helpful if you can assist me on this. Goodbye.--Retrohead (talk) 14:13, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

Marc Canter's Reckless Road, Duff McKagan's It's so Easy and other Lies, Slash's autobiography, & Mick Wall's WAR are all great resources that are also pretty good reads. RF23 (talk) 14:49, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
Actually I wanted to know if you own some of those books, and eventually send me some material by email. I can't enter any of those books on Google Books, and I can't find where to download them.--Retrohead (talk) 18:47, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
I don't have any physical copies of them, but you can get a copy of each book on amazon for like $4-6 each. McKagan's book can be found in bootleg form on google search by searching for the title and adding PDF to it, it's like the first result or so. Scribd also offers most of them on a subscription to the site basis, they also have a 2 week free trial. RF23 (talk) 12:22, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Information icon Please refrain from changing genres, as you did to Appetite for Destruction, without providing a source or establishing a consensus on the article's talk page first. Genre changes to suit your own point of view are considered disruptive. Thank you. Dan56 (talk) 17:32, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 15

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited WWE 2K16, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Heavy metal. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Closing GAN

Hey Ringerfan, are you okay with archiving the GA review? It's been opened for three weeks and there's still some work to be done. I don't want to rush you, but I think it would be better if you re-nominate the article once the points are all addressed. If you want to avoid the waiting line, you can contact me to revisit the nomination, or I can ask someone else to review it instead of me. All the best.--Retrohead (talk) 16:20, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

Give me a week to make improvements. You can archive it then if you feel progress hasn't been made enough to justify keeping it open. RF23 (talk) 02:09, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Chinese Democracy

The article Chinese Democracy you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Chinese Democracy for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. About deletion of my recent upload.

Why is that I am not given a chance to contest for the tag you placed? Why is the file even deleted before 7 days? AkshayAnand 21:10, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

It was a non-free image of a living person, those are speedy deleted 98% of the time. RF23 (talk) 23:16, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
Okay, I'm sorry about that. What should I do now in order to have the person's photo in the article? AkshayAnand 15:54, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
Check out the Finding Images tutorial, also make sure to read the Image use policy. There could be a chance that a free photo is not available, if that's the case, then there's no way of having a photo in the article. RF23 (talk) 14:56, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
Thank you very much. AkshayAnand 05:03, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

File deletion

You will no doubt notice shortly if you haven't already that I deleted a file you uploaded. Normally we go through a process before deleting a file, however, this file appears to be identical to one that was removed as a result of a deletion discussion. I don't see that anything has changed since that relatively recent decision. Please let me know if you'd like to discuss it further. Prior discussion--S Philbrick(Talk) 00:47, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

WWE2K14 LOWM matches number.

I have played the game and am pretty sure that there are 45 in Legends of Wrestlemania matches. You can't undo my change. Tanishbheem (talk) 10:58, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

Do you plan on nominating this for GA or FA soon? I noticed you're still working heavily on Chinese Democracy and are also putting a lot of side work into the band article, and I'd also love to see it reach either of those statuses - looks like the last time it was nominated was 8 years ago, and it's come a huge distance since then. I noticed some problems today and fixed them myself, but I thought maybe I could apply for Peer review and get eyes on the article before I nominate it because it's such a huge page. My latest nomination is getting older, so I thought maybe I could have two in nomination process, but I wanted to ask you just in case you were planning on doing it yourself. DannyMusicEditor (talk) 00:10, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

My plan was to eventually nominate it, but there's still work to be done on the article. I have a pending request for it to be copy edited, then it needs to go through a peer review. I don't think it's nearly ready for FA, but you can nominate it for GA if you want, I can help with what reviewers point out. There are a few things I have for a 'to do list' for it, I could put that here or somewhere.RF23 (talk) 13:35, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
I've seen a way to do that for talk pages (Talk:Deftones uses it), just tell me what's necessary, I'll post em up, and I can work on what I know how to do. DannyMusicEditor (talk) 17:16, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
Here's what needs to be worked on just off the top of my head: Citations need uniform cleanup (this is the most daunting task considering there's 400+ citations) [Also I want to eventually add the quote parameter to anything that's cited from a book or magazine], various sections need to be re-written to incorporate prose (too many sections are just 'in July, GNR did this. In August, GNR did this. In September, GNR did this'), & the GNR Lies & Spaghetti Incident sections need expanding. RF23 (talk) 21:39, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Apologies for my ignorance. I looked at this diff and realize that I was wrong. --George Ho (talk) 00:04, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Why?

KT032889 (talk) 16:41, 10 September 2015 (UTC) I have made the Guns N' Roses page more accurate and put the actual songwriters who wrote the songs instead of just Guns N' Roses on both Appetite and Lies and yet I get a message that I'm posting inaccurate information? Uh...no not at all, 3 months ago the acutal correct songwriters were on this page for example:(Welcome To The Jungle-Axl Rose,Slash)so why when I changed it back to something somebody else had back in June am I giving incorrect infomation. This is just like when I tried to post Guns N' Roses 11 promotions singles and I kept getting messages of disturbing the page. I'm just trying to make this page completely accurate. If you don't want the promotional single put down as singles I understand though I do believe you should mention them somewhere on the page. However why am I giving out incorrect infomation when I'm posting the actual songwriters.KT032889 (talk) 16:41, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

Both Appetite & Lies are simply credited to "Guns N' Roses" in the booklets & songwriting publishing catalogs, the only reliable sources for songwriting. any 'actual songwriter' is unsourced. According to guidelines established at WP:Music, promo singles don't go in the infobox.RF23 (talk) 21:00, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
