Zantzinger[edit]

Please read The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll before continuing adding this information. You will find your information is inaccurate in regards to his conviction, and rest of what you are adding is uncited. Thanks. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 22:49, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am removing what you are adding for three reasons.

  1. The The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll article says he was convicted of manslaughter and assault. Your addition says something quite different. Per Wikipedia policy incorrect information like this should be removed.
  2. Adding information that someone infamous is from/living in a particular area is the sort of thing that a cite helps verify and avoid any disputes.
  3. If he was truly notable he'd have his own article, rather than being a redirect to the song's.

There's nothing wrong with the addition as long as you are careful with the facts, neutral and provide a cite. But really, if you wish to cover the subject properly you should first write an article about him first, at the current redirect page, even if it is just a stub. That would establish his notability and give you a place to provide proper and accurate information and cites. Skimping on this, particularly with controversial information, is what Wikipedia policy strives to avoid. Thanks. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 23:24, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
