I have submitted a new article, and all that comes up in response to a search is "User:Rittenhoused" etc. Does this mean I've done something wrong or that the article is under review?

Yes I have seen it and it is NOT done properly. Please read WP:NAMEDREFS - when a reference is used more than once, it should be "named" and only 1 reference should be between each set of <ref></ref> tags. – ukexpat (talk) 21:39, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Awarding a Barnstar[edit]

Awarding a barnstar is pretty easy. Basically you put the right template on the talk page of the person you want to reward and a message explaining why. See Wikipedia:Barnstars for a whole bunch of potential barnstars. For example, if someone wanted to give a barnstar for great work editing XYZ article you could put "{{subst:The Original Barnstar| I award you this barnstar for a great job editing [[XYZ article]]. ~~~~}}.
