Hi![edit]

Hi, I am also a student in your PJHC class. I thought it was really interesting to hear that you're interested in the role of sports in marginalized people's lives. This will be an especially relevant topic especially considering the recent political and economic problems that happened with having the Olympics in Brazil. I would recommend Declan McKenna's song "Brazil" which was inspired by the controversy surrounding having the FIFA world cup in Brazil, partially because of the subject matter, and also just because I like it. I hope you'll have a really wonderful semester. Kmwebber (talk) 21:03, 30 August 2016 (UTC)Kmwebber[reply]

Hello Again![edit]

Hey Rebecca, good to see you again after taking Gender and Islam together! I'm really looking forward to hearing more about your unique perspective having grown up in several different countries in Asia. It seems that we will continue to keep talking about power dynamics in world politics and different representations between developing and developed nations. Excited for this class! Muslim women in sport[edit]

Hi. I saw your question on Adam's page, and I thought I'd follow up. I think you've done well, asking for feedback from those two WikiProjects (and getting it!) Given the lack of coverage on this topic, I think a broad overview article would be most useful to readers, so unless you have some reason to focus on something especially narrow, I would recommend breadth. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 22:04, 4 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for the advice! Do you have any suggestions for the title, or do you think it's good as "Muslim women in sport"? Rjpg12 (talk) 22:08, 4 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds like a good choice for a title to me. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 22:38, 4 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Ian, I'm having some issues with the professional sports section of my page. Another user has moved large portions of what used to be on the "Women in Islam" page onto the "Muslim women in sport" page. These sections make the assumption that all athletes from predominantly Muslim countries (Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, etc.) are themselves Muslim, and also focus on irrelevant issues like the attractiveness of volleyball player Sabina Altynbekova. I've posted about these issues on the talk page of the article - how long do you think I need to wait before I can start substantially revising these sections? I don't want to get into confrontations with people who originally wrote these sections, but I also want to make sure the information on the page is accurate, relevant, and not relying on stereotypes. Thanks in advance for your help! Rjpg12 (talk) 18:05, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello to you![edit]

Hi, I'm in your PJHC class, and I just wanted to say that I finally looked at your article today, and I was so impressed! Congratulations on your GA status btw! You should feel really proud. I'm not a huge sports fan, but I did read the tennis section because I love tennis. I can't wait to see what you'll do next semester! Also, if you're all interested in going to that UH edit-a-thon we should check it out. Kmwebber (talk) 22:08, 30 November 2016 (UTC)Kmwebber[reply]

Thank you so much Katie! That is so kind of you :) I didn't know you like tennis. It's definitely one of my 3 favourite sports (I have a lot, okay...). Your article looks awesome too! Rjpg12 (talk) 22:29, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Also, thanks to your user page, I've discovered user boxes! I think I might have gotten a little out of control though... Rjpg12 (talk) 00:22, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
