Paleontology - how to make citations

[edit]

Hi, Rlinfinity, I've just look at your recent change of Paleontology, and I think it would be helpful a couple of things:

  • Paleontology is a fairly long articles, and from the point of readers add more examples might too much. The examples already used are both aspects of an scientific debate about whether Tyrannosaurus really was a predator. --Philcha (talk) 08:27, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • If Microraptor's flight technique is included, your method of adding a citation, <ref>Wind Tunnel Test. (Feb, 2008). http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/microraptor/liftdrag.html</ref> is not acceptable. Someone will have to improve it, and it will have to be: there no reason for anyone else to do your chores; and if you want to enjoy dinner (adding you content to the article), you need to do your own cooking first. If you are ready to do that, I can show you a tool that make the job easy. Otherwise I'll just remove you change. --Philcha (talk) 08:27, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Both are cooking. I am not thorough with the WP Manual of Style. I will look it up later if I can find the time. There's no reason to get cocky, as it says right here:

How to write citations: While you should try to write citations correctly, what matters is that you add your source—provide enough information to identify the source, and others will improve the formatting if needed. Each article should use the same citation method throughout. If an article already has citations, adopt the method in use or seek consensus before changing it.'Italic text http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citing_sources Rlinfinity (talk) 00:19, 5 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not doing your chores. You are trying to stealing other editors' time, and that is not acceptable - use your own time. I've offered to show you a tool that makes producing citations easy. --Philcha (talk) 11:59, 5 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I never asked you to do anything. I had already referenced it properly soon after I responded here. But there was no reason for you to be quite so bitchy. As the WP:Citing_Sources article itself says it's okay to add even if you're not familiar with the proper formatting. That authority supersedes you. In the future try to be less of an ass. Did you not read "I can show you a tool that make the job easy". I use it all the time and recommend it anyone. --Philcha (talk) 15:15, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, see, for instance, this. Cheers - DVdm (talk) 12:14, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Rashid Mansoor (entrepreneur) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable entrepreneur.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
