Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Richard Greene (politician), but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 11:30, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The foundational meeting which led to the foundation of the Irish National Congress took place on September 9th 1989 in Buswell's Hotel Dublin. All the major players in all the Republican factions active in armed activities in the six counties at that time including major figures from the IRA groups and Sinn Fein's Gerry Adams were present and the meeting lasted for three hours which I chaired. Member of the Irish media were present and the proceedings were filmed. It was the beginning of Gerry Adams uphill journey to persuade the IRA to eventually dump armed resistance and to the peace process of 1994.The late Rita 'Hare chaired proceedings of the launch in January 1990 of The Irish National Congress at which Robert Ballagh disguished artist was elected as Chairman and I was elected as Treasurer. However the meeting in Liberty Hall did not have major figures such as Gerry Adams or leaders of other armed Republican organisations present. The most crucial and historical meeting in Regards to the eventual peace process starting in 1994 was the very packed meeting in Buswell's Hotel on September 9th 1989.Richard Greene. The issue is 1. that these claims aren't sourced, and 2. you're editing the article about yourself, which is, as outlined at the top of this page, not something you're meant to do. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:06, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The meeting in Buswell's Hotel on September 9th.1989 was filmed. Members of the Irish media were present. It started around 7.30 pm.Over 100 or more were at the meeting. I am surprised that some of the sources you use on your wikipedia about me ( including journalists I know can't recall such a significant meeting!Richard Greene Rnoelgreene (talk) 12:27, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, but you're just saying this, you're not providing a source. I'm not disputing that sources may exist somewhere; it's just that you didn't provide any to support what you said. Additionally, you are not addressing the fact that you have a significant conflict of interest here. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:30, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think we have here an isssue of the suppression of the truth for whatever reasons. As a lifelong campaigner who fought campaigns under state censorship in Ireland I know well "suppressio veri suggestio falsi".(The suppression of truth is the suggestion of falsehood).Sometimes when the oppressed come to power, they can be the opposite. Kind reason, Richard Greene Rnoelgreene (talk) 14:59, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You're really not engaging with the substance of what is being discussed. Saying that you need proof and that you should avoid conflicts of interest is not "censorship". --AntiDionysius (talk) 15:14, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As discussed by Tacyarg above, if you believe that content needs to be added to the article in question, you can suggest it on the article's talk page. AntiDionysius (talk) 15:20, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My concern is that the meeting I would like to see in my wikipedia was and is well known and documented and filmed and well known journalists were present and very many organisations and people were there in Buswell's Hotel on the evening of the 9th of September 1989.kind Regards,Richard Greene Rnoelgreene (talk) 15:41, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If that's the case, then you are invited to find such documentation and use it to suggest the relevant edits on the article's talk page, and someone will be happy to make them. AntiDionysius (talk) 15:44, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Richard Greene (politician). Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Yoshi24517 (Chat) (Very Busy) 21:42, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Since this seems to be an article about yourself, please listen to what the others have said above and please do not edit the article and instead suggest your changes on the article talk page. Yoshi24517 (Chat) (Very Busy) 21:44, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The meeting which Gerry Adams on the evening of the 9th. Of September 1989 was filmed and some members of the Irish media were present and over a hundred people attended the meeting and many of them still alive can testify to their presence at that meeting. The meeting was Chaired by Richard Greene, then Vice Chairman of the Anti-Extradition Committee and Chief media spokesman for that committee. Rnoelgreene (talk) 21:37, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Some info about this meeting has already been added to the page by Voidxor.
If there's additional relevant info you'd like to see added, that's doable, but it needs to be in reference to a source. You saying that some people can testify to their presence, or that there was a video, isn't enough; where are the testimonials, and/or where is the video? AntiDionysius (talk) 21:44, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sinn Fein have it. Rnoelgreene (talk) 21:52, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK - do you have a link to it? AntiDionysius (talk) 21:56, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also, what additional info do you think needs to be added that isn't now on the page? AntiDionysius (talk) 21:58, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
