Without explanation, you changed a long-existing redirect and amended the article name from Rotherhithe Tunnel to A101 road. The tunnel was constructed before the road numbering system was introduced, and it features as a route/river crossing destination across large areas of southeast and east London. I cannot seen any justification for such an arbitrary move, and propose to revert this change. Out of courtesy to you and to other editors, I have used the Talk pages to initiate a conversation. Paul W (talk) 08:54, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I see User:Bkonrad reverted the change before I did. Paul W (talk) 09:21, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A57 - copying licensed material requires attribution[edit]

Hi. I see in a recent addition to A57 road you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Open Government Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of the license. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa (talk) 22:10, 7 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok then, thanks. Roads4117 (talk) 16:35, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Should the A4012 be on the A4146 infobox?[edit]

Wikipedia is not Sabre Roads. While it is true that a joining road does not have to be a national route [with green signs] to be 'major', it is a good start. "White" A roads have to demonstrate notability in some other way. For Wikipedia purposes, a good test is whether it has its own article. The A4012 does not, apart from line in the Zone 4 table.

If you wish to debate this further, please use talk:A4146 road. It is pointless to repeat the same edit. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 20:10, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I concur with John Maynard Friedman. You may have more success on Roader's Digest - The SABRE Wiki. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 19:18, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ritchie333 I will not move to SABRE Roads. Roads4117 (talk) 06:26, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, well you need to read Wikipedia:Writing for the opponent and remember this is a general purpose encyclopaedia, not a fansite. This is why M25 motorway talks about traffic management and congestion, and why A303 road talks about the Stonehenge World Heritage Site, traffic, environmental protests and repeated failed construction projects. Remember that Swampy is notable and is covered in multiple, independent reliable sources about roads. PS: If you don't want to migrate to SABRE as well as here, that makes me wonder why - have you been banned from that site? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:40, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ritchie333 Hi Ritchie, I have not been banned from that site - I would just like to focus on Wikipedia. Thanks, Roads4117 (talk) 15:45, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There are a lot of other road articles which have non-primary roads in the infobox. Roads4117 (talk) 07:07, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

so remove them whenever you see them. Otherwise infoboxes get cluttered with trivia. Take for example the A1 article: it is crossed and joined by at least a hundred minor A roads. Any road that is not a national route (as defined by the MoT by signing it in green) is by definition not sufficiently notable to go in the infobox.
The essential characteristic of an infobox is that it tells you at a glance the essential information about a topic: if it gets cluttered with inessential detail, it ceases to do that job.
If you like to go into great detail about roads, then Wikipedia is not for you, try Sabre Roads. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 08:08, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok then. Roads4117 (talk) 17:48, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
