Vandalism[edit]

I was tagged with a vandalism warning concerning the article on teenage pregnancy by this user "Roasty Toast". I have read the wiki page on Vandalism on my edits didn't seem to fall into the mentioned categories. I did read that when a vandalism warning is given that a reason is also supposed to be given. Large amounts of my contribution to the article were deleted. As for as I know according to Wiki policy deleting edits unless they are falsifiable is considered vandalism. If information falls into a gray category editors are supposed to ask for citations. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.168.239.61 (talk) 03:57, 27 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

This is what I reverted "Stopping adult men from preying on young girls." which is really a nonsense edit. And any edit that isn't constructive is considered vandalism. Feel free to discuss this matter with me. ROASTYTOAST 15:10, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was also tagged with vandalsim for a change to the rabbit breeds section. I removed "Conner is very good looking too." from the American Fuzzy Lop section because it makes absolutely no sense in the context of that article. I have no idea what "Conner" is in the context of American Fuzzy lops (nor why such a useless subjective statement is in there). I thought I was helping to clean up the article, but this was reported as "vandalism" and the change was reverted.

Fair use rationale for Image:ArenaBowl-Trophy.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ArenaBowl-Trophy.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Arena Football League-stub[edit]

Hi - I see you have recently created a new stub type. As it states at Wikipedia:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Wikipedia, new stub types should be proposed prior to creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies.

It is far from clear that your new stub type woyuld have the 60 stubs usually required for a separate stub type, and it isdefinitely not named in accordaance with stub naming guidelines. Your new stub type is currently listed at WP:WSS/D - please feel free to make any comments there as to any reason why this stub type should not be proposed for deletion or renaming at WP:SFD. And please, in future, propose new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 01:13, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good point, it has been a while. At the very least it will need renaming to ArenaFootballLeague-stub, per the naming guidelines, which is handled through SFD, so I'll list it there. Grutness...wha? 23:55, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove your practical joke banner. Such things are obnoxious and detract from the user experience. Also, spoofing the user interface is officially discouraged per WP:USER. For an example of a fun and far more palettable alternative, see the orange box at User talk:Bishonen. If you feel a need to keep the orange box, please consider using a distinctive message not easily confused with the new messages announcement. Dragons flight 08:36, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I don't understand the purpose of this edit. You did a lot more than remove one score. I also don't understand why you removed the score, did you think it was fake? Also, you modified many of the scorers comments, other than just numbers. Why did you do this? You changed the comments themselves, to mean something totally different from what they meant, and you also changed the timestamp. Did you simply revert? Why did you do so? Please explain your edit. Not all newbies are vandals[edit]

Hi Rostytoast. I just noticed your comments here in response to edits by what appears to be a new user experimenting. This user made a quick comment and then removed it a minute later. Treating this as vandalism is likely to alienate new users who are just trying to see how it all works. A better response would have been a welcome and perhaps {{Test1}}. I appreciate the effort you put into fighting vandals, but try not to bite the newbies in the process. -- Samuel Wantman 19:15, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An Automated Message from HagermanBot[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 00:55, 14 May 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Questions[edit]

Hi roastytoast, my username is JoeBonnano, and i'm new to wikipedia. I just had some questions like how do you write articles, and creat user pages. I kind of understand it, but i'm not 100% sure. you seem to be pretty seasoned, and you have a good handle on thins, so i thought i should ask you. please get back to me on my talk page whenever you can, cause i would really appreciate it, also, how do i find user page on wikipedia. the only way i've been able to do it so far is by typing in the username in Google. i would relly like your help, whenever you get a chance. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Arenabowl1989.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Arenabowl1989.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:02, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
