requested math articles[edit]

Just so you know--there's a robot that goes through Wikipedia:Requested articles/mathematics every night and removes the ones that have articles. And it really doesn't mind. Can't see much harm in what you're doing, but thought you should know. --Trovatore 05:49, 18 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, thankyou I was not aware. 69.143.127.232 15:06, 18 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Impressive![edit]

Hi. Impressive work so far. I hope you'll be able to contribute a lot to the Wikipedia. You may noticed that I brushed up some of the articles you created, so that they conform more with the standard format that we use. I hope you don't mind. If you plan to do more on mathematics, you might be interested in Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics. Anyway, feel free to ask me any questions on User talk:Jitse Niesen in case you are wondering about one of the many conventions we have around here.

But most importantly, keep up the good work and enjoy Wikipedia! Cheers, Jitse Niesen (talk) 22:51, 19 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that Plane partition looked rather similar to http://mathworld.wolfram.com/PlanePartition.html , so I feel compelled to remind you that academic honesty requires to cite your sources, and copyright law forbids copying text unless permission is granted. -- Jitse Niesen (talk) 23:05, 19 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ugh, sorry I completely forgot about citing sources, I will go do a rewrite of plane partition as soon as I finish Mangoldt summatory function Robbjedi 23:08, 19 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Copying articles from PlanetMath[edit]

Hello. I noticed you copied quite some articles from PlanetMath, which is great. There are some imperfections, though, probably because of Oleg's script, of which you may not be aware. Many of the links in the articles point to improper places. Quite a bit worse is that some formulas get truncated, like for instance happened in Kolmogorov's inequality: The formula in the old version has the middle bit replaced by six dots. I fixed this now. I'm just warning you so that you can make sure that it doesn't happen again. Cheers, Jitse Niesen (talk) 22:34, 29 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
