COI

Have you read up on the conflict of interest guidelines? If you're going to continue working on the Phase II articles, you should know what they say. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 22:03, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Hence my edits have been factual corrections citable by information we have released, inclusion of new episodes as we have announced them and so on. As a for instance, the additions of episodes 7 & 8, the correction of the "Chekov" section regarding what episodes Zungre is in (and a wording correction regarding "Chief of Security") and the addition of Vic Mignogna's Malkthon credit for Kitumba.

At no point have I engaged in any other form of edits on the page, such as the ones that have struck debates - though I have weighed in on a small handful of them on the discussion page.

The only other edits I would ever make are the removal of pictures we do not want on the article (which to date, I have not), as "Fair Use" justification aside, they are our pictures and I am one of 3 people responsible to ensure that our copyrights on them are respected. As an additional note, unless something is leaked and posted here, I suspect I will never have a problem with picture selection.

As far as I can see, all of those edits I have made fall within the "Non-controversial edits" section of the COI or in no way contradict the purpose of Wikipedia - or fall within (if the case ever occurs) me exercising our rights to protect our copyrighted pictures.

Please let me know if that fits the acceptable guidelines.

Don't worry, I'll do my best to ensure I dont run afoul of such. I intend to keep any other types of change related stuff to the Discussion pages where I'll simply weigh in or provide citations as requested so that those doing the real editing and corrections can easily find citable information.

Hence also my indication of my affiliations on this page, both so my discussions can be verified through other means, and so my edits can be judged against whether or not I have violated the COI. :-)

First, my apologies if I sound short in my above responses... I'm spending the day programming and am in an "exacting" frame of mind - if that makes sense. :-)

Second, a question... when I contribute to the discussion pages, should I perhaps make it more clear as to my affiliation with the production so people can more accurately judge my statements and potential biases without having to visit my UserPage?

You should definitely mention it in discussions where it might be relevant, instead of waiting for people to find it out by themselves. That tends to make us assume bad faith. :-) Also, if you edit in a wide variety of your interests, you won't have people trying to discount you as a "single-purpose account".
