Welcome to Wikipedia, RobinInTexas! I am RP459 and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Sorry, I didn't mean to snap. It just seems to be a practice that both new and veteran editors engage in, and I couldn't understand it. Nightscream (talk) 20:05, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How long have I been here?[edit]

I'm just curious, it says I Registered: 00:23, 18 June 2010 (2 years ago)

Yet Special:Contributions/RobinInTexas&dir=prev&target=RobinInTexas shows an edit attributed to me on 21 Nov 2008

I clearly remember the edit, but not the date which is not in dispute.

In an emergency, this user may be slapped with a trout.

The record shows that your account here was created on 16 August 2008 and your first edit was on 21 August 2008. I can't account for the Global User Manager date, but I see it says "attached on"; perhaps that is the date on which a unified SUL account was established for you? I hope that answer was helpful. If not, message me, too. Bearian (talk) 14:42, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I'm sure I'll take my idle curiosity with me to the other side.RobinInTexas (talk) 22:27, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You can satisfy your curiosity about other users as well: go to their contributions page (starting at their talk page look for "User contributions" under "Toolbox" in the left margin). On the contributions page there is a link "Oldest" which will show the first ever contribution (except for contributions to pages which have been deleted); and at the bottom of the page there are various links including "User rights" which will show when the account was created and whether it has privileges like "administrator."
