If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Robogarden requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. April 2018[edit]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Bbb23 (talk) 17:02, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Robogarden[edit]

In response to your post on my talk page, here are the problems I saw...

  1. The English Wikipedia does not allow company or group accounts, or accounts whose names appear to represent companies. Also, an account must be used by and represent one individual only, and your use of "We" suggests multiple people have access to this account. I see your account has now been blocked for that reason, so you should follow the instructions in the block message if you wish to be unblocked.
  2. The Robogarden article read to me more like a marketing brochure than an encyclopedia entry. That's common when articles are written by people who work in marketing, who often genuinely don't seem to see that the rest of the world does not speak the same way. I sympathize with you about Tynker, as I think there is a problem with the tone of that article too.
  3. There's also the problem that the Robogarden article really didn't really make it clear why the company is sufficiently important to have a Wikipedia article, and it was poorly sourced. Ultimately, a company article would need to satisfy the notability requirements at WP:NCORP, and we'd need multiple independent reliable sources providing in-depth coverage of it. The sources provided were really just press releases and a link to the company's own site.

I hope that helps. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 17:34, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
