Vinalopó

[edit]

Hi there. Congrats for your edits on Spain's demographics: they seem accurate and very informative to me. Hey, I have a question for you...I recently created the entry "Vinalopó" in this English wikipedia...I notice in your user page a picture of this "river" as it crosses Elda: since I am such a dummy I don't feel confident enough to copy it into the Vinalopó article (if I managed at all I guess I'd mess the frames etc): please feel free to do that yourself: I would appreciate it. Thanks anyway. Mountolive 20:35, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

More on Spain's demographics: references

[edit]

While still considering that your input in this regard has been outstanding and very much informative, if you don't support the figures and percentages you bring in with the proper foot note/s, these are in high risk of being deleted by any other user, since their factuality can't be checked independently.. Please proceed with this quotation at your convenience to avoid so. Thanks again. Mountolive 05:10, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your uploaded pics in the Vinalopó article: I really appreciate it. I am sorry I couldn't give much feedback earlier, but I've been just busy (and may continue to).
I have also made a small addition to the Demographics of Spain article: in this regard my opinion is that we should do our best to shorten the already way too long Spain article and try to drag the lion's share of data, citations and analysis to the more proper Demographics of Spain article which, as for the time being, is not "main" at all, since the Spain's demographics section is actually giving more insight in the matter: feel free to work on this if you agreed.
As you see, I have also inserted a few requests for citations, even for my own edit "second only to Japan" (I am almost sure I heard that, but a citation is always best): indeed I believe that citations are best when available... and these should be much more easily retrieved in this kind of (in my opinion) closer to REAL social scientific articles such as demographics, at least when compared to, say, historic (less "scientific") articles.
Mhhhh....hehehe...I see in your own images one pic from the "Salinas de Santa Pola"...I would hate to abuse you but...if you wanted, please feel free to upload this one or any other you feel appropiate to the Baix Vinalopó article: it would be great (I still don't know how to do this and, if I knew, I'm still afraid that I'd do a big mess with frames and else!)
Speaking of "comarcas"...back in the day when I created the article, I listed in the river Vinalopó article Valles del Vinalopó and Vinalopó Medio as different "comarcas" while I am not sure anymore whether this is correct or both are just the same...do you know about this?
Thanks, Rodriguillo, for your valuable help! Mountolive 08:40, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I saw you uploaded the image in the Baix Vinalopó article. Thank you very much once again. I also appreciate your clarification on the Valls del Vinalopó stuff (I will delete this mention from the River Vinalopó article myself). Your work in the demographics of Spain section is simply great. Thanks, man. Mountolive 01:27, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Valencia Autonomous Community

[edit]

Hi mate. I was trying to enlarge the above entry and take it out -if they let me- of the &%$#@ discussions of the name of Catalan/Valencian and all that #@%&. So User:Maurice27 and I we have translated the Geography and Demographic sections from either es.wiki or ca.wiki. If no one else makes it, I guess I will also translate the Economics section as well.

Speaking of demographics, I remembered of the boss in this topic, that's you! I am assuming that you actually worked on both es.wiki or ca.wiki versions but, just in case you wanted to add anything, please pay a look at what has been done and feel free to add...for example, I am missing some note on the important foreign residents population, either economic immigrants or sun-seeker ones: you may want to contribute with these or any other thing.

Ah...last but not least...damn, I am still confused with the uploading process..I tried to open something in Commons and I was warned about copyright bla bla so I just spared the pain but...the thing is that I see a very cool NASA capture of the Valencian Autonomous Community in both es.wiki and ca.wiki but just copying it to en.wiki doesn't work...do you have an idea as to how to retrieve this image easily and post it in en.wiki? It would just be perfect next to the Geography section. Mountolive | Talk 01:25, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi mate. Someone did for me the import of the NASA caption already, so we're fine there. It looks like the only problem I had is that I have to translate the description or the en.wiki won't get it from es.wiki, so I should be fine now. Actually I will try to import your Biar castle image to the History section in this article.
You are still more than invited to check the Demographics section and, if you have readily any map of the whole Valencian Community showing the cities, that would be a good one to substitute the present one, which is just plain. Mountolive | Talk 03:42, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
