Bad edit
[edit]Hey, this is neither a minor edit nor a correct one. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 15:20, 10 November 2021 (UTC)
- Ah, that's an edge case I didn't anticipate. I should be able to prevent that. As for the minor edit issue, I'll make the bot edits non-minor. Winston (talk) 15:33, 10 November 2021 (UTC)
New article transclusion issues
[edit]So, upon creating a new article, and copying Rotten Tomatoes data from one article to the next (which I often do), I was greeted with red codes diff. I eventually fixed the error, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place.--Filmomusico (talk) 19:36, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
- Update: This happens every time I copy Rotten Tomatoes from one article to the next. Any way of fixing it, or I need to insert stuff manually and then wait until the bot converts it?--Filmomusico (talk) 00:23, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Filmomusico: If you are creating a new article, it very likely will not have Wikidata created for it yet, which is how this template operates. If it isn't there, the template has no idea where it should be looking. So best stick to manually having the data on the page, and should Wikidata then get created, the bot will eventually come around and change it. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:38, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
- Got it. Thanks. Can you include this in the bot's limitation section?--Filmomusico (talk) 00:42, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
- That's pretty self-explanatory, since it states the bot works with Wikidata and Wikipedia. You were using the template to retrieve such data ({{RT data}}) and that documentation is clear. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:50, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

What's going on with that bot?
[edit]Hello. The bot activity created errors appearing in red in this article and I had to replace them manually here with the "Template:Rotten Tomatoes prose". What's going on? Tatvam (talk) 09:13, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Tatvam: That film does not have Wikidata associated with it for the templates to work. I'm not sure though why the bot would run then to add in the data when it couldn't pull it. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 23:09, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
Number of reviews for context
[edit]Could this bot create an error category or other flag to help indicate articles that have a Rotten Tomatoes score but do not also include a review count for proper context? -- 109.78.198.186 (talk) 03:33, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
Bot Run
[edit]Hi @Winston:, do you have plan to run bot please? See it was approved https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Bots/Requests_for_approval/RottenBot Thanks Indagate (talk) 07:52, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
- Just posting for clarity that while the user's signature read "Winston", the actual username was Notacardoor (previously Notsniwiast). Bot likely not going to run anymore as it hasn't since Nov 2021, and the operator hasn't edited since Dec 2022. -2pou (talk) 18:02, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
