Edit warring over John Goodricke[edit]

Hi. Please don't edit war over the John Goodricke article. The RAS is credited for the image, in both the footnote and on the image's page. Wikipedia policy states that credit on the image page is sufficient, and that adding credit lines to every caption is unnecessary. If you believe that this image is a copyright violation, then I suggest you bring it to the attention of the administrators at the Wikimedia Commons (Commons:COM:AN). However, Commons does not accept that faithful reproductions of 2D public domain works (such as this) have their own copyright, following the US case of Bridgeman Art Library v. Corel Corp. -mattbuck (Talk) 00:20, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Username[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, RoyalAstronomicalSociety, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it appears to be the name of a group - the Royal Astronomical Society. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. --ZhongHan (Email) 08:08, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; you are welcome to create a new account with a username that represents only you. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}. Thank you.
